Organic Spirulina Review

If you love smoothies you have to try out Organic Spirulina.

It's a new product to me. It's marked down on Amazon from $45.00 to $25.95.

It also comes with a PDF book full of recipes. I tried out their chocolate smoothie. We had breakfast before the light was out to take a decent photo, so this is from their PDF book:

Chocolate Smoothie:

Serves 1-2 people
  • 1/2 cup quick oats - cook and set aside.
  • Their recipe said 5 Tablespoons of fresh Spirulina powder, but I'd knock that down to 3. Ours was a little too green. We're a family used to greens.
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped dark chocolate.
  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk (You can substitute with another kind of milk.)
Note: Put in the freezer for long enough to freeze up for an alternative to ice cream.

About:

Our Organic Spirulina Is great for the immune system. This is the time of year where people get sick. The product is filled with greens, and is nutrient-packed.

You can use it on:
  • Smoothies
  • Juices
  • Recipes

Adding Spirulina to Your Diet Will Help:

Strengthen Your Immune System:

A very dense nutrient food. It works miracles in the body by helping to balance your pH and reduce Inflammation - which is the root of most disease. This nutritional content provides protection from colds, flus, allergens, other contractable illnesses… & even cancer.

Fight Aging and Free Radicals:

It has more antioxidant activity than 5 servings of fruits and vegetables and 3900% more beta carotene than carrots, packing a powerful antioxidant punch that promotes skin health and cell regeneration while providing protection from cell-damaging molecules absorbed by the body through pollution, poor diet, injury, or stress.

Optimize Your Health With Nature's Most Perfect Multivitamin:

With over 100 naturally occurring and bioavailable vitamins & nutrients, Organic Spirulina contains more than 60% protein and is a non-synthetic source of iron, calcium, magnesium, selenium, beta-carotine, B12, chlorophyll, phytonutrients, antioxidants and essential amino acids (GLA, Omega 3, 6 & 9's).

A Little Bit Goes a Long Way:

Spirulina is really dense. I added too much in our smoothie this morning. It was just too strong. 1 scoop will be plenty for a smoothie in our house. This is so healthy, and has such great antioxidants in it. I love that it helps boost your immune system.

Spirulina contains more protein content than any other food source, and, it is biologically complete - containing all of the essential amino acids needed for human health. Spirulina is also the most planet friendly source of protein. It yields 20% more than soybeans with 25% of the water usage and is 5 times more energy efficient!

I have tried a product from Immortal Energy before. This great product was just as wonderful.

  • Deer Antler (Lu Rong) is widely used in Asia, and now throughout the world. It's used to strengthen adrenal, reproductive and brain functions. It's a rejuvenating agent. Short term use is thought to build power and strength, while long-term consistent use is thought to re-build deep life force, preserve youthfulness and to enhance longevity. Many studies show that pantocrine in deer antler enhances work flow, helps decrease muscular and mental fatigue, and makes appetites and sleep better. They also help with O2 on the brain, kidneys and the liver. Builds red and white blood cell production. Provides: Minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients.

  • Astragalus (Huang QI) is a root that has been used to centuries to strengthen and regulate metabolism. Recently the herb has gained popularity among practitioners and herbalists as a medicine in the West. Chinese have used this root to enhance energy within the body, known as "qi". It helps reduce perspiration. A person that is ill can build strength and immunity. The root also helps to protect the glad that produces hormones related to stress, call the adrenal cortex. It is known to help allergy sufferers by building up the immune system.

  • Ginseng (Ren Shen) is known to improve concentration, thinking, work efficiency, memory, athlectic endurance, physical stamina which all have an impact on our energy levels.

  • Goji (Gou Qi Zi) has both nutritional and medical benefits. Goji berries are super high in antioxidants, and have anti-inflammatory properties. In Chinese medicine goji is used as a blood and immune system tonic. They support vision, are a mood elevator, and are known as the "Happy Fruit". They also promote beautiful skin, improve memory, and increase libido.

Inside the packet are pills. You can take 3 to 4 capsules as needed, or as directed by a health care professional.

You can dissolve them in warm water, or open them up and add them to smoothies.

I chose to add them into a smoothie.
I used the seeds from 1 pomegranate. If you have never taken the seeds out of a pomegranate it's so easy. Cut it open, add it to a bowl of water, and take the seeds out. All the white stuff floats to the top. The seeds sink to the bottom. It took me 3 minutes.

I added one organic apple.

I added one Immortal Energy capsule.

You will need to add some water, and/or ice. You can do this in the blender, but I used the Nutribullet. If you are not a seed person, you may want to juice these things, and add the Immortal Energy to your juice. The seeds are packed full of nutrients, so I drink them.

This made 4 small drinks.

What are my thoughts?
I love that Immortal Energy is 100% all natural. It's great to know that I'm getting things I don't normally get.

How Used Total Nutrition

I said on the package that it can be mixed in water, with juice, or with your choice of milk. I used my bullet to mix up the Total Nutrition, 1 frozen banana, 1/4 cup flax seed and unsweetened almond milk.

I was envisioning the greens taking over the banana taste. I have to be honest I didn't read the ingredients before trying it. It has berries, and other things in that powder that are not green. I just wanted to give it a whirl. It was so good!
