Fall Cookies

Travis was supposed to have an artist help him haul his designed chair home. It weighs a ton. The artist that was supposed to help him, had a funeral to go to.

His work let him borrow an employee, and their truck to haul it.

In return Travis made them pizza, and I made them fall cookies.

I only allowed myself two cookies, to go with coffee.

My weakness: Sweets! Especially chocolate!

What's your weakness?

Random Tid Bits

  1. It's been raining in Omaha, Nebraska for days! There's possible snow in the forecast. No thanks! I want summer back again.

  2. We met with Mr. Principal in regards to Isaak. Isaak's no longer going to take kids to the bathroom. He was one of 3 boys selected to do so. Most of the kids in class were picking Isaak, when they had to go. He was missing out on lessons at school. Then he was ultra emotional at home. He didn't get how to do his homework. His teacher didn't want to take the whole class on breaks because of the time lost in their school work. My thoughts were - her time lost. The other way - his time lost.

I went through his teacher first. She just said, "I can't take him off that. He's one of the few boys in the class I trust." I didn't just walk in to the Principal's office, and blame the teacher. I said, "Isaak's plate is too full. He signed up for Safety Patrol (which is every day), Student Council (which meets once a month), Chorus (misses class for), Show Choir (before school once a week), Strings (misses class for), Soccer, and Basketball (which are both after school). Little man was overwhelmed.

Other topics we went over: Kid's forming "Cool Clubs" that Mr. Principal was unaware of, and the class talking a lot and missing recess - I mentioned they could run the track instead to at least get some activity. Isaak's teacher also said to Isaak, "Why did you say all that to your Mom?!" in regards to my email. Isaak felt like crying, and bawled at home. I said, "Kids should talk to their parents! I'm happy my 10 year old son talks to me!" Mr. Principal agreed.

  3. I felt good about how things went. Then yesterday Isaak said, "Mom did you know teachers have favorites? I'm one of my teacher's favorites. She told me so." (insert inner eye roll, and why in the heck is she telling the kids this?) I covered quickly by saying, "Isaak favorites change. Somedays I like you better than Mica and visa versa. I love you both. It's just that one child may be easier to get along with on a particular day." He said, "Do you have favorites with your students?" I said, "I have students that are challenging sometimes. I've had students ask if they were my favorite? Then I said to them, 'You are, along with the other 30 students in the class.' That seems to satisfy them." I want Isaak to like his teacher. I have to say that she rubs me the wrong way. She's fake happy it seems. She smiles with a frown face. I've never seen anyone do that before. Her mouth is frowned down, but her cheeks and eyes are uplifted.

  4. Travis' boss lady keeps giving him things. A foam pumpkin to decorate, so I decorated it up like an owl for him. I didn't take a picture. Next came a wooden leaf. I did take photos of that for a future post. She's given him candles, cozy socks that are very girl like and Isaak wanted, and Keurig pods. For one Travis hates flavored coffee, for another we don't have a Keurig machine. I open them up, and dump them in our legit coffee pot to use them. Do you like plain coffee or flavored coffee? Do you have a Keurig machine?

  5.  Mica's in a thing called Quiz Bowl. It's like Jeopardy, except you don't answer with a question. He has a group against other groups from other schools. We had no idea that it would be so time consuming when he signed up. It's every Tuesday after school, and 2 Saturdays a month from 8:30 to 1:30 or longer. I was feeling less than thrilled about this once I found all that out. Then I thought about it...I'll have one less child on those days. That's not all that bad. Possibly I'll go to get him one day before he calls me to take a few pictures.

100% Natural Arabica Coffee Scrub 8.8 fl. oz.

I now love sugar and salt scrubs! Recently I received 100% Natural Arabica Coffee Scrub 8.8 fl. oz. to review.

Product Description:

Their emulsified formula is made using high quality, all natural gourmet coffee, which softens skin as it scrubs away dirt and dead skin cells. It also contains good things for your skin to help with any skin care regime.

It came all wrapped in plastic, wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed up to ensure nothing would leak out.

Ingredients in This Coffee Scrub:

  • Caffeine will stimulate blood flow and help reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins and psoriasis.
  • Dead Sea Salt will exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin, acne, whiteheads, blackheads, breakouts and other skin blemishes.
  • Coconut Oil will hydrate and moisturize your skin.
  • Shea Butter is high in antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation.
  • Cocoa Butter is also high in antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation.
  • Olive Oil is also high in antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation.
  • Sweet Almond Oil helps with acne.
  • Grape Seed Oil helps with acne, aging and rough spots.

Benefits of Using this Scrub:

This product exfoliates your skin, restores the elasticity, increases circulation, reduces fine lines, evens skin tone, and boots your skin's hydration.

If you're a long time reader you'd know that my boys have had skin problems in the past. This scrub helps with that.

There are no harsh chemicals in this coffee scrub. I've had trouble with chemicals in the past, so knowing that this is free of harsh chemicals is great for me!

I did find the scrub to be a bit crumbly. I wish it had more of the oils in it. It's almost like you need a small wooden spoon on the side to apply it. I don't want to waist any of this great stuff!

I loved the way my skin felt after using it though. My skin was smooth! It smelled wonderful! I love the scent of coffee, and it smelled just like that. My sense of smell doesn't always work the best, so it's wonderful when I can smell something. :)

Cost:

$55.00, but on sale for $14.50.

Why waste money in high-priced spa treatments to get your skin glowing? Indulge in our coffee grounds facial scrub to soften the delicate skin on your face.

Disclaimer: I received this scrub for free for the purpose of this review. The opinions are 100% mine.

Tap Dancers Coffee Review and #Giveaway

I drink one cup of coffee in the morning. I can function without, but it's much better when I have my cup.

Tap Dancers Coffee gave me five bags of coffee, and an Inced 'a Brew to review. They also gave me two additional bags of coffee to give away to one of my readers! YAY!

I love all their varieties of coffee. Each one smells so good.

So many of their coffees introduce their buyers | reviewers to different cultures. They actually get their coffee from the places it says on the packaging. There's a bio on their website about where the coffee comes from on each coffee blend.

It's specialty coffee. It's fair trade, organic, low acidity, and it tastes wonderful!

Welcome to Kenya: Kenya Kiambara Medium Roast and Kenya Kiambara Dark Roast.

We dove into Keya Kiambara Dark Roast. It's soooo good!

Welcome to Guatemala: Guatemala Andrina Dark Roast, Guatemala Beatriz Medium Roast and Guatemala Blend Specialty Roast.

Welcome to Ethiopia: Ethiopia Queen City Medium Roast.

We have friends from Ethiopia. Over at their house, their coffee was rich in flavor. The Tap Dancers Ethiopian Coffee did not disappoint.

They also have Espresso: Espresso Blend Specialty Roast.

We love dark | strong coffee, so this hit our taste buds.

You can choose to have Tap Dancers Coffee delivered to you house one time, weekly, and bi-weekly. They have 6 ounce, 12 ounce, and 5 pounds.

The cost varies: How much you are getting, and how often you are having the coffee delivered to your doorstep. It runs as little as $8.75 for one 6 ounce bag all the way to $60 for a weekly delivered 5 pounds.

Tap Dancers Coffee also sent me an Incred 'a Brew to review. It's $25.

I'm not sure how much I'll use this product, but I'm in love with the coffee!

It looked easy enough to use. Their instructions were so limited on and in the box.

Instructions:
  1. Heat up water in a mug as hot filtered water. Get it as hot as it can get without boiling over.
  2. Put the ground coffee in the main body of the Incred 'a Brew, and add the water. It comes with a coaster to prevent any leakage. We never had any leakage. I only spilled water on my own.
  3. Let it sit for 2 minutes.
  4. Pick up the brewing system, and put your mug under it. It will only start brewing when the mug is under the Incred 'a Brew. It takes about 5 minutes to brew the coffee. That varies with the strength of coffee you have in the system. No grounds got in the coffee. There are two filters it has to go through.
  5. Cleaning it was hard for me. I had trouble lifting out the filters (which there are two that are connected). The filter system is under the grounds. I found it difficult to get out when it was dry, and not berried with wet grounds of coffee. I had to have my husband get it out. He found that by pushing with his thumb it popped up. I'm still trying to master this.
  6. It can be cleaned in the dishwasher, or you can hand wash it. I like to hand wash products like this to ensure they will last longer.
Notice no leakage. The coffee and water are in there. It's sitting on the coaster, but there was no water on the coaster at all.

Here's what the mug looks like under the brewing system. It only turns on when the mug is there.

CLICK Espresso Protein Drink, The Coffee Lover's Protein Review

Drink CLICK is amazing! It's an espresso protein drink.

They sent me (1) 15.8 ounce Mocha CLICK Espresso Protein Drink® $19.95 - $26.95, and (2) single serving packets $2.35 - $2.95 of 1- vanilla and 1- caramel CLICK Espresso Protein Drink® to make drinks, or you can include it in recipes. I also got a CLICK shaker cup that comes with a metal ball to help break up the protein powder.

On their website they have a free e-book. It has 50 ways to use CLICK.

www.drinkclick.com
I sometimes like to treat myself to a decadent coffee-house drink. It's not super often that I get a special drink, but when I do I'm aiming to make better heath choices. CLICK Espresso Protein Drink® is a great product for those special cravings.

CLICK, known as the coffee lover’s protein drink™ is a low-calorie, protein-packed coffee drink that comes in 3 delicious coffee-house flavors:

  • mocha
  • vanilla latte
  • caramel
  • decaf mocha for those senstitive to caffiene
Made with real gourmet espresso coffee, CLICK provides the decadent flavor you love, with the nutrition you need, to boost your energy, curb your appetite and improve fat burning.  With 15 g. of protein, double-shot gourmet espresso coffee and 23 vitamins/minerals, CLICK is ideal as an all-in-one morning meal replacement, appetite-curbing afternoon snack or as a nutrition drink to support your workout.

It does have fructose in it. Since sugar is something I'm trying to stay away from, this will be a special treat once a week for me. I do love the the vitamins it has in it though! It's gluten free, which is wonderful.

I made their Chocolate-Cinnamon CLICK-cocoa.

Use Basic CLICK-cocoa recipe, which is 2 scoops of CLICK-cocoa and 12-14 ounces of water. Add ¼ tsp. cinnamon. Put it all in their shaker cup, shake well, and you have your drink.

I had mine cold, but you can choose to heat it up if you like.

I added whipped cream and chocolate just for presentation purposes. I usually don't go all out for my drinks. You can see the shaker cup behind the drink. It really helps break up the protein powder. I didn't drink any clumps of protein.

The drink was yummy. I made one for Daddy, but he likes just plain Mocha CLICK Espresso Protein Drink®. He's a plain coffee drinker to.

Top 10 recipe ideas from their 50:

  1.  Basic Mocha CLICK - Which are like Pudding Popsicals
  2. Chocolate-Peanut Butter CLICK-y Pudding
  3. CLICK-Brownies
  4. CLICK-a-Butter Balls - Which are Protein Balls
  5. Minty-Chocolate Power CLICK Blizzard
  6. Strawberry-Banana CLICK Smoothie
  7. Coffee Toffee CLICK-y Frosty
  8. Cookies 'n CLICK Frappe
  9. Black Forest Frappe
  10. CInnamon-Caramel Hot CLICK Drink
You can buy sugar-free syrups.
It certainly helps to have their shaker. The metal ball looks like a whisk. It really breaks the powder up.

CLICK is carried in The Vitamin Shoppe stores nationwide along with many other fine nutritional stores and with over 500 5-star reviews is one of the top-selling nutritional beverages on Amazon.com.  Learn more about CLICK and the CLICK community at facebook/drinkclick with over 30,000+ fans as well as on our CLICK Community Blog at drinkclick.com/community  #ClickOn #DrinkClick #Love4Clic

Caramel MATCHAccino Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. I think I'm hooked to Red Leaf Tea. They sent me a Caramel MATCHAccino to review. Oh my goodness it's good!

Make sure while you are visiting the website to check out a few other great teas.

You can purchase Caramel MATCHAccino on Red Leaf Tea's website. The small 5 oz 10 servings is $13.99 $6.99, or their large 16 oz 30 servings is $29.99 $14.99. You can also find the large size on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Caramel-Matchaccino-Latte-frappe-Mix/dp/B00CDBI7PY for $29.99.

Caramel MATCHAccino is a flavored green tea matcha latte that is decedent, delicious, and full of caramel flavor. Some say that the flavor matches that of a crème brûlée, or caramelized sugar. Others are reminded of the old fashioned caramel candies their grandparents savored.

The large size saves you $3 over Starbucks per cup. It's healthier than the average coffee place. You can see all the perks below. I like all the No's: No Food Coloring, No MSG, No Artificial Sweeteners, and No Preservatives.

How did I have it?

I had it cold. When I think about it I can taste the caramel flavor. Just like all their other drinks, you can have it warm to. Sometimes I'm in a warm drink mood. It's great that there is the option of drinking it both cold, or warm. There are a lot of substitutions where you could change your drink up. Try different types of milk, have it with water, add coconut oil, add vanilla, and so on.

I don't know that this is something I'll drink everyday. It is something I'll drink when I'm craving something on the sweet side.

I like it with 1/2 a frozen banana, 6 to 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk, and one scoop of MATCHAccino. Blend and bam it was good to go.

Do you like cold, or warm drinks?

I have a giveaway going on for another Red Leaf Product. Go here to enter.
