Sunny Cuddles

We have a bit of a problem...

Isaak might be allergic to Sunny, the Gecko. I'm hoping it's his food he could be allergic to. We hold him in the evening because he's nocturnal. Once Isaak's eyes swelled up like crazy afterwards. Another time his lip looked all puffy afterwards. He needs to wash his hands no matter if he's allergic to him, or not. But it could Sunny be a problem, for him?

Or is it just a coincidence, and he has seasonal allergies?

I never thought that allergies to a lizard could be a thing. I'm the queen of allergies, and Sunny is one of the few pets I can actually have.

He usually climbs up on my shoulder, but one night he cuddled up to me, for a long time. I never thought lizards would cuddle ever.

His little claws tickle when he walked on you.

Sometimes when he senses you, while he's sleeping his eyes pop open.

We'll have to keep an eye on Isaak. I'm going to be pretty sad if he is allergic to him. To be honest lizards in my opinion are easier to care for than fish. That is once their setup is established. Their habitat can be a pain to get the way you and they need. Their area has to be cleaned way less than a fish tank. Their food is easy to raise. Cost wise after their tank is established, they are affordable too.

Mr. Elbow

Mica is a wonderful child. He gets good grades in school, does things the third time you tell him, and smiles a lot.

He has a few set backs. He forgets things easily, makes a ton of sound effects, and sticks his elbow out a lot.

I sit next to him at the table, and Mica does this elbow stretch all the time. Jab Jab! 

The boy has never been aware of his size. My Mom refers to him as a Pitbull that thinks he's a small little dog. 

I remember when I was pregnant with Mica my coworker that has 7 kids said, "One thing about boys is that they don't like to cuddle like girls do." He may have been right in referring to his own kids, but not mine.

My boys like to cuddle, but only with me. They have pretty different personalities.

Mica's independent for the most part, likes to read, needs his quiet time, enjoys movies, learns about actors, and builds with Legos.

Isaak wishes he could stay little the rest of his life, he enjoys being around other people, his feelings get hurt easily, he's into crafts, sort of likes Legos, he likes numbers, and is always making things.

One day Travis and I were trying to figure out retirement plans. We left the 2 in the living room to watch a flick.

I came out, and here's what they looked like:

Usually when Isaak sees me he flinches, and messes up the photo. Not this time.

I heard a few coworkers say that only their girls like to cuddle. Boys on the other hand can't sit still enough to cuddle. This is not true with my two!

 

Gold

A lot of times I see school papers long after a holiday is over with. Last week Isaak brought home this:

I admit the first time I read it, it said, "Who is worth more to you than gold? I love my mom because she cuts with me every time."

Then when I got it, it melted my heart. I actually says, "Who is worth more to you than gold? I love my mom because she cuddles with me every time"
 
It's not the prettiest picture, but it's the message that I love.
 
By the way I tried to cuddle with Mica this weekend. Oh my goodness that child is a giant. He seems just as long as me on the couch. They grow up so fast!

Fake Sleepers

Cuddle Time

One thing both of our boys are good at is cuddle time! They love to cuddle up to watch movies.

Here's Daddy and Isaak:

Isaak's the type of kid that likes a toy in his hands most of the time! We have rules that are attached to that: No toys at the table during meal time, no toys in the bathroom, no hard toys in bed and if they are going over to another child's house that has toys, no toys get taken there. Mica isn't usually a toy in the hands kind of kid. He plays, but doesn't hold them constantly. Their cousin's Evan and Elijah are like that though. If it were up to them, they'd sleep and eat with their Hot Wheel cars.

Both Isaak and Mica tell me that they are busy growing a beard like Daddy! Then they argue over who's going to grow a beard first. I told them, "I like your chin's naked!" They both laughed.

Cuddle Bugs

• Once a week we have a movie night. This night we watched Tangled. I splurge on movies some since we don't have cable.
•  Usually one kid cuddles with me, while the other cuddles with Daddy. This night they both wanted to cuddle with me.

• As you can tell I have severe allergy eyes going on. I tried rubber stamping the bags under my eyes out in Photoshop, but then I looked very fake.

Doctor

• I went to the doctor on Friday.
• On Thursday night it was getting difficult to swallow. I had a few white speckles in the back of my throat.
• I thought I had strep throat. 
• On Friday I taught class, so I didn't want to miss. I decided to go for lecture and call the doctor office right after that. 
• As soon as I called the doctor's office, they said they could get me in as long as I could make it to their office in 10 minutes. I left my class, and went to the doctor. 
• Of course it had to be snowing outside. Part of that 10 minutes was clearing off my car.
• The nurse did a throat culture before the doctor even came in.
• The culture was negative. My doctor gave me an antibiotic.
• I went back to work.
• Once I got home, I could barely talk and my ears felt plugged.
• The boy's and I cuddled.
