WW: Bad to the Bone Devils Tower {Linky}

It took us a lot of time to drive from where we were at in South Dakota and went to Devils Tower in Wyoming. The driving there seemed to be taking forever.

Isaak is the king of pouting and fake crying. I could tell the car ride was getting to him. I can't even remember what he was pouting about.

I have to say the drive was well worth it! I just wish Yellow Stone wasn't so far away. I would have loved to see that again. [Insert Mommy pout here].

Devils Tower was cool to see to! Can you believe people climb it? We just walked a path going around it.

I think the boys would have loved to climb it though.

Just outside the path is rocks, rocks and more rocks.

Doesn't it look like fun?

 We lifted this rock up. Trust me it was heavy!

The best view in my opinion is from a distance though. It's so pretty!

Mom is This Marack Obama's Wife?

I was in the lobby at the Y getting ready to pay for Mica's Jiu Jitsu, and Mica was looking at their magazines.

He holds one up and says, "Mom is this Marack Obama's wife?"

I said, "It sort of looks like his Michelle, but it's not. It's a news lady named Robin Roberts." I still haven't had the heart to correct him on our present's name. Him saying, "Marack Obama" is just too cute.

Treasure Hunt

I saw this on the floor:

Isaak came in the room and said, "Don't do anything with my treasure hunt Mom."

I said, "Ok!?"

Isaak said, "It's going on a treasure hunt X marks the spot. Two big circles, and one small dot. Crack an egg on my head, let it all run down. Tight squeeze, cool breeze. Now I've got the shiveries."

I do that to Isaak's back during Mica's swimming lessons.

The missing parts he said, or acted out. The "Shivers go up, Shivers go down." part he move his finger up along the popsicle stick and down the other one.

Too Good to Be True

I read awhile ago online that JC Pennies gives kids free haircuts last August, before school started last year. I took my kids in, and they got their free haircuts.

Then I got an email saying that there was so much shopping success with free kids haircuts in August, that they were going to offer free haircuts every Sunday. It was an endless statement. Here it talks about it. I even got an email from the CEO saying the same thing, since I'm on their mailing list.

I'm not saying that I'm out for a free haircut. I just thought they were giving free haircuts on Sundays. I took the boys in and it was $14 each boy. I hate when you're thinking, "I'm getting a deal!" and it's not a deal at all. I know I should have called first, and asked. I didn't want to sound like the cheap skate that I really am. LOL

Truth be told Daddy could have done what this lady did. He was going to; I told him not to because they could get free haircuts from JC Pennies. My bad.

It was cute that Isaak kept snapping and humming.

Mica's bangs did end up being fairly even. His bang line is so crooked. When his hair is cut, the crooked bangs is usually noticeable. He was so serious when his hair was being cut.

I wish my boys would follow the current trend with longish hair. I'm not talking so long that they need their hair in a ponytail. I wish we could go into get their hair done, and just get a trim up.

Usually it's Isaak's hair that I like longer, but Mica's hair was growing longer to and I liked it as well. I'm not saying I hate their hair short. It's cute short to. It's just when they want a cut, they want it all cut off. Isaak wasn't happy with his hair this time, he wanted it buzzed. I'm talking bald as a baby. They both beam at the sound of the hair clipper coming out.

Aren't these hair cuts cute for boys?

Isaak's hair is full of cowlicks. It's actually easier to maintain when it's slightly longer.

Reading Kingdom Review

Reading Kingdom is an online reading & writing program for children ages 4 to 10 years old.

I was thinking Mica (almost age 8) would love this! He's big into reading, writing and technology. Mica did like their games, but he seemed to grasp things too easily. He read 7 chapter books over the weekend, if that tell you anything. The boy's nose is stuck in a book all the time. His teacher told us that he's way above his level.

It's good I had another kid to try their learning games on. Isaak (age 5) really liked it! He first watched Mica play, then played himself. I could see his mind wheels were turning. Sometimes he'd stop playing and ask, "Mom what letter do I put in there?" At first I helped him. The next session I just told him to figure it out. I love that they have the kids repeat a word in a different way. This helps them to learn it.

Tonight I Got to Celebrate My Birthday Party With This Little Man

My Nephew Emerson, Cousin to the boys. Emerson turned 2 and I turned 37!

We got Emerson a cute toddler pillow with his name on it and I made him a t-shirt at CafePress that said, "I rock this extra chromosome." My sister asked awhile back for a shirt that said that.

I scored with a kitchen mat, a canning set, a citrus juice squeezer and a stove top espresso machine.

We also celebrated my Dad (AKA Grandpa) Fathers Day. I ordered him Jefferson Bible and Curb Your Enthusiasm on DVD. He gets into any religious discussion, and his personality fits in with the DVD we got.

The cake was made by a nonprofit organization called Icing Smiles, Inc. The lady who made it drove all the way from Lincoln (an hour away) to deliver it!  She even said that she could make a half birthday cake for Emerson if my sister wanted! Since kids with Trisomy 18 don't have as long of lives (usually), we can celebrate his life more often. In the hospital babies with Trisomy 18 are considered to be, Incompatible With Life. Many people that have kids with Trisomy 18, and other genetic disorders try and redefine Incompatible With Life. Emerson is redefining what many doctors and nurses think of him. When Emerson was a baby we celebrated his life once a month. Not always with cake, but we celebrated none the less.

Little Tadpoles

The little tadpoles we got are starting to get legs.

We have 7, or so. I told the boys that I think they should all be named girls names, since I'm out numbered.

I started rattling off names. Mica kept saying, "No not that one." So far they are nameless. Then I was thinking that maybe they could be named character names instead of girl names. What would you name them?
