Sunset

Last night we went to Wenninghoff's Farm for the boy's school. It was a fundraiser.

We only spent slightly over an hour there.

The perk was the pumpkin patch area. We grew pumpkins, so we didn't pick out pumpkins. It was just really pretty.

We spent the rest of the time talking with other parents, and running around.

Bloom Where You're Planted Farm and Pumpkin Patch

I won tickets to go to Bloom Where You're Planted Farm and Pumpkin Patch from Family Fun in Omaha.

We went there on Saturday. We've never been there, so we had no idea what to expect. It was about an hour drive from our home.

We enjoyed the drive. Both of us live only 10 minutes from our home to our work, mine ends up being 20 minute because of construction, so it's not like we drive all over, all the time.

It's not as commercial as Vala's Pumpkin Patch, so there is less to do. There is also less people, more animals to pet, it's less expensive, more real food options, and you can hear yourself think out there.

The boys loved petting the horses. They spent some time picking burs out of the horse's mane. There are a lot of them out there.

Mica memorized the horse's names.

I tried getting photos of the boys all nice, with smiles on the hay bales. They wanted nothing to do with that. Instead they wrestled on the bales, and Isaak the punk child that he is jumped off the tallest one. I'm so lucky that kid hasn't broken anything yet!

The boys did work together to get up on this horse swing. Teamwork at its best.

These city boys have never been in a tractor, or combine. They had a chance to get to know John Deere a little bit this weekend.

They had this fun bumpy slide. Isaak told me his butt felt bumpy. LOL

Isaak covered Mica in corn. They have a huge bin filled with it that's like a sandbox.

We went on a hay rack ride. It was pretty.

What did you do this weekend?

WW: Vala's Pumpkin Patch {Linky}

This weekend we decided to go to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. It's been a few years since we've gone, so it was really fun for us. We walk everywhere, and did most things.

They love to sell extras at the pumpkin patch. We caved and bought goat food. The goats weren't hungry at all. Everyone else caved to.

Isaak loved it when I found a hat in his favorite color: Sparkly Gold. He even has the lip thing down.

Both boys were testy in the morning. So much so that we thought about turning around, skipping the patch all together, and going home. We were already on our way. The parents wanted some fun to. Most photos we got of the boys were awkward. In one Mica's body is tilted away from Isaak, in the other Mica looks like he has to pee (hands crossed, and legs together) and Isaak looks like he's thinking, Whatever let's get this photo over with already!

Travis and I were cracking up over his expression in this one. Can you tell he was fed up with the boys?

Mica thought he was too old for the jump thing that is so much fun. The crazy thing is that they have a jump thing for adults, middle aged kids, and young kids. Anyway I ended up jumping with Isaak. The second time around I got on 2 punk kids that were trying to cut in line. I told them twice where the back of the line was. I wasn't putting up with anything that day!

Go Karts were super fun. Isaak can finally ride one himself. Mica moved up to the 10 + ones that ride faster. They both got stuck a few times, but it was fun!

Mica took a hold of the map, and insisted that he knew where he was leading us. Instead of getting to the corn maze...we walked almost all the way around it.

Inside the maze our newbie navigators got us lost right away.

No worries we got out of the maze.

Then the boys did an obstacle course. Isaak touched the ground, so he had to start over again. Dad did it with them.

This topped my day. They were all getting done with the obstacle course. The kids were lined up to do the zip line. Travis was in the line to. No other parents were in line. It was only for kids. He got down and said, "I almost went on that thing. Then I realized it was for kids only. How come you didn't stop me?" I said, "Well there was a time when I stopped you from getting an ice cream bar at the kid's school. You got mad at me because I embarrassed you. I figured I'd let you embarrass yourself this time."

Could you imagine a full grown adult male on this thing?

Do you have a Pumpkin Patch where you live?

Pumpkin Patch

Daddy took the day off yesterday to go on a field trip to the pumpkin patch for Isaak's preschool. Isaak's in 2 preschools this year. I have a feeling we're in for a lot of field trips.

I wished they'd just charge us extra every month instead of forking up exact change. I wouldn't even care if I ended up paying more in the long run. Use it on school supplies for the next year.

With Mica we just told him, "Honey we won't be able to go on all the field trips." He was fine with that. All he cared about was going someplace special. Someone made it to most of them. I tried telling Isaak this and he was terrified. Daddy took the time to go. Then Isaak woke up yesterday and said, "I want everyone to go." I said, "Honey just be thankful that Daddy is able to go with you."

They had fun. It wore him out.

Isaak wanted to wear his "Davy Crockett hat". It looks like there is snow on the ground, but there is not.

They took a train, they picked out a pumpkin, apple cider, and brownies. The one thing they had trouble with was the trampoline. Isaak didn't want to jump on it with other kids jumping on it. Then when all the kids got off, Isaak wanted to jump on it. He's still in a funky stage. I'm hoping he moves on and becomes better about group playing.

Mica said, "I'm worried about Isaak going to Kindergarten next year." Daddy asked, "Why?" Mica said, "Because he's so worried and scared when he doesn't know people."

Signing him up for an additional preschool is good because he is forced to be around kids he doesn't know including his cousin that he knows well. He loved school last year and kept asking to go. Then there's that part of me that wonders if I made a horrible mistake with signing him up for another school because I'm making him feel insecure by being around kids he didn't know. Maybe he wasn't ready for that. He'll need to be for Kindergarten next year though. Parenthood decisions suck sometimes!
