OBYMEUS Men’s Tennis Shoes Review

Isaak typically gets shafted with all things new. He get hand me downs from Mica. I try and get him a few things here and there that match his personality. He doesn't get into all of Mica's space and science obsessions.

I got a pair of lightweight tennis shoes to review just for Isaaak.

Brand:

OBYMEUS - It's not a brand I'm familiar with.

Where to get them:

Colors:

They come in five different styles/color options. When I looked they didn't have as many. The only selection when I ordered were black and grey. The black ones were out in his size.

  • Cool Blue - They look super cool. Kind of a midnight blue.
  • Blue - This confuses me because the shoe is actually grey with a green design on it. Possibly they have the wrong picture in there.
  • Active Grey - The same picture is in this shoe selection as the blue one. I'm thinking this is the right photo. It's grey with a green design on the side.
  • Brave Black - It's black with a sleek black design on the side.
  • Grey - The one we got to review.

Had they had all these options when we ordered, and all were in Isaak's size I would have gone with Cool blue or Brave Black. The design on the sides of those options remind me of the design lines he opted to put in his hair last year.

Perks:

  • They are lightweight and breathable.

  • The shoelaces aren't too long, or too short.

  • I like the neutral colors. To me neutrals aren't as fun as bright colors, but they go with more things.

Cons:

  • They don't have a ton of traction. They are advertised as being a gym shoe. I think just casual day to day walking shoe is more like it.

  • The tongue of the shoe is all part of the shoe. I don't know how I feel about that. I have never seen that before. It made it hard for that extra lace hole to go in.

  • I feel like the rubber tip (*see photo above) should go higher. The shoe could get scuffed easier because it's shallow.

  • Cost wise it's $44.99-$49.99. In one way sure they aren't as expensive as most shoes. In another way they aren't a brand I've ever heard before. The design isn't a shoe that would last.

  • I wish the color/design selection would have been there when we got this pair. Although this is the pair I agreed to review.

All in all I'm glad Isaak has another shoe selection. He likes having new things.

Do you like shoes that are colorful, or neutral?

Mens Tennis Shoes Review

Both Mica and Isaak have been growing like weeds! It helps when I get shoes, boots, clothes, or food to review!

Last week Mica got to pick out a new pair of shoes.

Where to get these tennis shoes:

You can get them on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08N18KHQT. They are $46.99 on Prime. They did ship really fast.

Colors:

One downfall is that they only have this color in his size. He's in a size 10 1/2, but we went with a size 11. That's not too gigantic. My dad wears size 15 1/5!

  • White with Blue - Like he got
  • All Red
  • Blue with white soles
  • Grey with orange soles - This is the one he wanted. I like that they are neutral which goes with a lot of things, yet have a pop of color.

Pros:

They are breathable and lightweight. I hate when I have really heavy shoes that make a lot of noise when I walk. These are not like that. I also feel that because they are breathable there's going to be less stinky feet. Ha! I think the pop of blue coming through looks good. The laces aren't too short, nor too long.

Cons:

The color section was limited, for the size we wanted. The soles don't make a lot of noise and are lightweight, but have very little traction. Traction is something I look at when I'm buying in a store. I want the boys to be able to be boys. These aren't climbing, running, or hiking shoes. For an off brand - Damyuan - that I've never heard of, they are still fairly expensive. Almost $50. Like I said, they aren't super great, with little traction.

Do you wear tennis shoes, or other kinds of shoes more?

#ad Sandals

These sandals come in 3 colors:

  1. khaki
  2. brown
  3. black

They are super stylish.

They fit Mica really well. He loves the style of them!

They do have great treads, I love how they can be tightened up with their toggle laces.

You can get them on Amazon for $29.90. Cost does vary base on color and style.

Rainrop Men Garden Shoes

These Raindrop Garden Shoes are perfect with all the rain we’ve been getting. In Omaha it's been raining for a week now. It's rained more now than it did all spring. It turns summer tomorrow!

They come in 6 different sizes:

  • 7
  • 7.5
  • 8
  • 8.5
  • 9
  • 9.5
So they won't fit my Dad that has 15 AAA shoes, but they do fit Mica.

He likes that they breathe, are easy to slip on and off, and are waterproof.

    Styles:

    • Black with beige bottoms (the ones we got to review)
    • Blue with white bottoms
    • Black with yellow bottoms
What style would you pick? I like the sporty look of the black with yellow, but felt like blue and black with beige would be more practical.

    Where to Get Them:

You can get them on Amazon Prime http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D53CH65 for between $9.99 to $19.99.

    Breathable:

They have holes all over. I don't the fact that they are breathable. No foot smell. No chance of foot fungus. Ewww!

What kind of shoes do you like to wear in the summer?

    HICKIES Review

HICKIES are no tie elastic shoelaces. They are great for running, hiking, or sports because you won't have to stop what you're doing to tie your shoes.

    Kids are Hard on Shoelaces:

Isaak in particular is horrible on the knees of his pants, and shoelaces. He's just the typical boy with clothing. Mica never was a rough and tumble kid. At least Mica was born first, and his clothes can get handed down. I'm always saying, "Isaak get up and walk on your feet, not your knees." and "Isaak tie your shoes!" I really hate when he's playing basketball and his shoes are untied.

If you're like me, and you get after your kids for needing to tie their shoes everyday before they step out of the house, you'll want to try HICKIES.

Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-walk or run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-ons that are perfect for any activity from a small activity to a rugged workout.

    A Great Stocking Stuffer:

HICKIES sent me a set of kids and adult HICKIES. They work great for Stocking Stuffers for Christmas time.

One set is for kids and the other is for adults. I have to be honest that I don't know if Isaak will wear them. They have pink, which he does like pink, but with his age he may see them to be too girly.

Mica is in men's shoes, so the grey pair could go to him.

I had a a problem with the HICKIES in my own shoes. All my shoes have metal clasps that the laces go in. The HICKIES were so loose in them. I had to put them tight just to get pictures for the review.

I feel kind of bummed that the kid ones won't work for Isaak, and even more bummed that the adult ones won't work in my shoes because of how my shoes have the metal things in there for the laces.

They were easy to put in, but no way to tighten them if needed.

They make it look like they fit so well! Maybe they would fit great in Mica's shoes.

Viihahn Men's Lace-up Fully Wool Lined Boots Review

It's hard to believe that Mica's into men's shoes. Ok, so maybe it's not. My nephew that's the same age has been in men's shoes for awhile now. We're spending more money on shoes for him now. Thankfully I got Viihahn Men's Lace-up Fully Wool Lined Boots for Mica to try out. YAY!

These boots come in 2 colors:
    1. Coffee
    2. Black
I really love the color coffee...

But I felt like he'd get more use out of the black ones. He has tan shoes already. The coffee could could be worn with brown, or black because the soles are black. I know Mica has dress shirts for the holiday time that wouldn't work with brown at all. The black ones were more practical.

    Lined:

The shoes are super soft. They are lined with wool. Mica loves the feel of them.

With them being lined it's super great for cold winter days. They are winter boots, but I wouldn't go sledding in them. They are too nice for that. They can be worn for dressy events, or casual wear. We actually went for a quick hike to see how they'd feel. Mica loved how they felt.

    Soles:

The soles are great. They don't slip around, which is wonderful. Part of why I wanted him to have winter boots is for really cold days. He's on safety patrol, so it will be cold and icy on some winter days.

They do get rocks, leaves and mud in the treads, but I'd rather that happen instead of having no threads. It gets icy here during the winter. I don't want Mica sliding around.

    Cost:

$115, and on sale for $68. That's with Prime.

    Specs:
    • Leather Imported
    • Wool Rubber Soles
    • Leather Upper
    • Shearling/Wool Lining
    • Dual Density Insoles
    • Lace-up Closure

Overall Mica really likes his boots! He was pleasantly surprised. I didn't tell him that I was getting them for him.

Do you have a favorite pair of boots?

Disclaimer: I received these boots for discount in exchange for writing this review. I was influenced in no way to write a positive review.

    Random Tid Bits

    1. I've been having trouble functioning this week. I say that, but I've gotten a lot done. I'm all ready for the fall for 2 classes. I mean all ready. I have everything printed!

      A) I'm just tired this week.

      • Students wore me out last week. Many that were not passing all the sudden cared, and wanted to do the work. It's crazy, I never thought it would happen, but they all passed. I've had more Cs and Ds than I think I've ever had though. That's not good.

      • I'm still trying to get used to getting up earlier. A new schedule is hard to get used to. We have to take our kids to my parent's house. In the summer it's not like we sleep in. The boys have gone to Travis' work a few days this week. One of those days they all had a dentist appointment at 7 AM. Camps will kick in, in a few weeks.

      • Male readers shut your ears - I'm PMSing. Uggg! It happens. I'm the type that is the I don't want to do anything PMSer. I'm not the type that gets emotional, or throws things. Sometimes I drop things, but that's my normal.

      • Isaak has his family party at our house. I hate hosting events! I decided - yep I just hate it. My house isn't huge. I'm not the best housekeeper. I work full time. It's hard to do it all. More people got magically invited. I don't want to deal with it.

      B) Asthma has been really a pain in the butt at about 8 PM each night this week. It's like clockwork. It's been really rainy here. Ever since I was little I feel allergies and asthma kick in when the weather is like that. It doesn't help that there were grass fires and a natural fire that all blew this way. I feel like I have fluid in my lungs, I all the sudden have a deep cough, and I could blow my nose every 5 minutes. I really could do without it!

    2. A coworker left the company a few days ago. I wasn't sad really. He's moving on to be a goat farmer: Selling goats milk, soap and other products. It's been in the works for awhile, so I had time to prepare myself. It's just quiet though. One worker will miss him more than I will. They both talked about the Bible a lot, and conservative politics. They'd try and convert me. I'm glad their religious circle is broken up. I'm there to work. I'm not there to bash on people because they don't think the same way I do.

    3. Mica and Isaak don't have camps set in for a few weeks. We hate hearing, "I'm bored!" so I worked on a curriculum for them. On Monday Mica left the curriculum at Travis' work. Travis went to get it, and left his work keys at our house. I was laughing because - that's where Mica gets his forgetfulness.

    4. I signed up the boys for the summer reading program at the library. There's prizes involved. Then I grabbed sheets at Barnes and Noble for the boys to complete that reading program.

    5. Just so I don't leave you pictureless I got new shoes. I can't just wear just any shoes. I have a weak left ankle. There's that. I found a brand I LOVE. Amazon had a special deal where these shoes were on sale and 1/2 off that. The Ahnu brand is not cheep, so I was happy to see the sale! They are waterproof, have excellent arches, and I love the companies values! What brand of shoes do you like? Reds is my favorite color, so without further ado:

Best Foot Relief Glycerine Filled Liquid Insoles Review

My husband has been complaining about his feet. He said, "I need insoles." I got Best Foot Relief Glycerine Filled Liquid Insoles to review. They sell for $75, but are on sale for $39.

They came in perfect condition. I had no problems with the company what so ever.

I have medical built insoles. I have very little left ankle + no arch. My insoles are built up a lot! I happen to know that just like braces, and mouth guards are hard to get used to, so are insoles. It's like putting hard shoes on a baby for the first time. They have problems walking in them.

These insoles are not hard. They are the opposite. It's like a water bed for your feet. They are super comfortable! Just different to walk on. The glycerine moves around, while you walk. It's perfect for people that stand at a job all day. Travis however is still getting used to them.

There are a Ton of Perks to These Insoles:
    • They are comfortable
    • Compared to other insoles they are inexpensive
    • They are not bulky like my insoles

    • They support your arch
    • They massage your feet, which increases blood circulation
    • They relieve foot stresses and fatigue by keeping you more relaxed  with their cushioned base
    • They absorb shock during sports activities
    •  They keep your feet warm in the winter time
    • They have antimicrobial properties discouraging growth of odor, which causes bacteria
    • They eliminate plantar fascitis and inflammation pain
    • They are unisex
    • They can be worn with any type of shoe

Travis had no problem getting them to fit in his shoes. I did notice that he needs not only insoles, but new shoes. His shoes are worn out!

He's walked around in them for a few days. They still feel new and different. He's never had insoles at all. There's a lot of perks to the insoles, so we'll have to wait and see how he feels about them weeks from now.

    Do you have insoles?
