Birthday Party Cheesecake Jellybean Boom

Whenever it's any one's birthday I get the song, It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine..." by REM stuck in my head. There's some fast lyrics in there where he sings, "Birthday party cheese cake jellybean boom."

Isaak's going to be 13 on the 19th.

He wanted 3 things:

1. A new office chair - If you remember Isaak built up a desk, so the office chair goes with that. Unlucky (because they are closing), but also lucky for me my old work of 18 years sold me a fairly unused office chair for $30. That's way better than the cost of them online.

2. A new pair of shoes - I would have gotten him those anyhow. He wanted them for his birthday. I found a pair that looks just like a jacket he wears all the time that are ASICS. They were $20 cheaper on Amazon than they were in the store. Yay me.

3. A back massager - An odd request for a 12 - soon to be 13 year old, but he wanted one.

This back massager is fancy! I came in a cool case, with all kinds of attachments. Eight to be exact.

The brand name: Trace Kasa

I've never heard of that brand name before, but it is rated well on Amazon.

Where to get it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KCTMMFX

Cost: $69.98

The cost I feel like is reasonable. I looked at their competition, and they sell them from $39 all the way up to $399!

Why Get a Back Massager?

On the Apel side, they have a history of having a bad back. Instead of paying for Chiropractic care it's good to maintain back care with exercises and a deep tissue massage. I already to Isaak that he's going to use this on his dad's back too.

Muscle Soreness Relaxation

Trace Kasa percussion massage gun can relieve body stiffness and soreness with deep and powerful muscle massage after doing exercise, or for a warm-up before exercise.

It is suitable for personal use.

Rechargeable Battery

It does have a rechargeable battery. I kind of prefer a plug-in with most things.

Hampton Kinetic Ice Review

Travis and Mica were outside digging up branches from a bush they dug up in the fall. This thing has branches that go and go. They were digging so much that they lost a shovel.

Now Travis' mid to lower back is killing him. He always works too hard, instead of spacing out his work time. I guess I'm the same way with tasks. He gets back, neck and elbow pain from hauling things. I think we all have something. My is allergies and asthma. What health issues do you have?

Hampton Kinetic Ice to the Rescue:

Travis does do back exercises, rolls his back on a basketball, he lays down on a Spoonk Mat, and Mica or I rubs Hampton Kinetic Ice on it.

Design:

I like triangles lately. I've been using them a lot for work.

Packaging:

The bottle was covered in plastic, and foam was put on top.  Usually I don't like waisted plastic, but I have gotten products like this in the mail where it was messy because they didn't package it well. I was pretty happy with the way this came.

The rip of the foam came from me.

The product is clear, and feels best when it's massaged in. Some products like this has a residue when it's put on. Not this. It does have a menthol scent.

This product is fast acting, has cooling relief, is not sticky, fast acting, and made in the USA.

Where You Can Get it:

You can pick this up on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K3TKQHF for $29.95, and get more of a deal if you buy more than one. It's get 3, for the price of 2.

I feel like a 4 ounce container goes a long way! The deal they give is great for getting yourself one, and others gifts.

Lumbar Support Waist Cushion Backrest Pad Review

My husband's family has bad back problems. His mom, dad, sister, and other relatives have had back surgery, or back pain.

I am really happy to share with you Konnor Strong Lumbar Support Waist Cushion Backrest Pad that you can find here: https://www.amazon.com/Konnor-Strong-Support-Cushion-Backrest/dp/B06XBS39QC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493982040&sr=8-1&keywords=lumbar+support&m=A39BXQKUDFCLWW

Perks for the Lumbar Support Waist Cushion Backrest Pad:

  • It helps to support your lumbar and allows for relaxation on your back and spine
  • Relieves your back tightness that you may have from stress
  • Relieves pressure and pain
  • Soothes your your aching, tired back
  • Improves your posture - something I could use for sure!

Side Views:

You can see how it helps with posture!

Front and Back Views:

You can see how straight as a board he's sitting. It clasps on much like a booster seat would for a child.

I like how it's easy to put on, and easy to take off. If someone needed to they could use this at work, and at home. You can even use it in the car!

I plan on using it on the couch for when I have surgery. I need something to keep me upright. We don't have a recliner.

Cleaning:

I do like that it's a gray color. It would be nice if they carried it in a lot of other colors. I think I'd prefer brown to grey. The neutral color matches most decors, and one can't see dirt on it. That's perfect because often times Travis is outdoors working in the yard, welding, or grinding on a sculpture. The outside material is a soft velvet, which is both comfortable and warm. The pillow case is breathable, removable and machine washable.

The he pillow inside can not be washed. So bare in mind that you will need to keep it away from wet, or damp areas.

Cost:

$29.99 and on sale for $18.99 Prime

Dual Adjustable Lumbar Lower Back Brace and Support Belt Review

Travis and most of his family has back problems. He's had to see Chiropractors and a Physical Therapist for both his back and should. It's best when he sticks with his back exercises.

The hard thing is to remember to not bend with your back. Dual Adjustable Lumbar Lower Back Brace and Support Belt helps remind you of that. It keeps your back straight.

It's nice that this support belt fits into a box, but I think once it's opened the box for most people will get tossed.

It really took only a minute, maybe less time for him to put this on. The material is really breathable! He has tried another type of back support before that has room for an ice pack, or a pack that you can heat up in the microwave. This one is a bit different. Similar to put on though.

I has a velcro in the front. I happened to get him a large. He's a skinny guy, so if you plan on getting one of these you may want to go up a size. It comes in S/M and L/XL. Travis probably could be a medium, but I went to a large because I knew it could be tightened.

As you can see it forces the posture to be upright. If you're like me and tend to slouch this may be great for you to try out. I may be wearing it at work. I tend to sit around a lot.

My husband likes to wear back supports for gardening. He forgets, and starts to bend with his back instead of his knees.

Cost:

$45.99, and on sale for $19.99 and on Prime

Do you, or anyone you know have back issues?

Vector Back Brace - #1 for Targeted Lumbar Compression (L) Review

My husband's family has a history of back problems. He has been down on his back at times. It doesn't help that he's a dental technician; where he hunches over a lot. We recently got Vector Back Brace - #1 for Targeted Lumbar Compression (L) from BioSkin to review.

It comes with a Hot/Cold Gel Pad. Many get pads are only cold, or hot, but usually not both. Different pains require different temps.

To heat:

Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Flip the pad every 10 seconds. We heated ours up, and had no leaking problems.

To freeze:

Place the pad in the freezer for at least an hour. This does require more planning.

There is a pocket in the brace for the Hot/Cold Gel Pad. This is really handy!

The brace looked a little complicated to me at first. Let me tell you it's not complicated to use at all! It has thick velcro in the center, and a pulley system to pull and attach. Everything is pretty sturdy! It should be snug, not tight. Travis had no problem pulling it to fit right.

Wash:

If you need to wash it it's hand wash only. You can use a detergent, but it needs to be a mild one. I make my own, so that's what we'll use. I wasn't expecting to wash this any other way. Sticking something in the machine that has a lot of velcro seems like you're asking for it to break down. Hang it up to dry.

What Travis Thought:

My husband likes this so much that he brought it to work for his co-worker to try. His co-worker has been in and out of the hospital with back problems.

This may be something we get for my in-laws next year. It's handy, and they have back problems!

Cost:

$153.95, but on Amazon it's for sale for $99.95! I think this is a great price considering the costs of going to a chiropractor over and over again. Prevention is key!

Travel Pillow Review

My husband is the one that always seems to want a pillow in the car for when he dives any sort of distance. I got a Travel Pillow to Review. You can get it on Amazon for $29.99, and it's on sale for $19.99.

It came in a travel bag, for when it's not being used.

The pillow has a valve, you can open it, and it practically inflates its self. If it's not all the way full, you can blow into it to fill it more.

On the back of the pillow is an elastic band strap, so you secure it to the back of the seat.

I didn't have my husband review it. Shhh...I'm giving him this for his birthday. Let me tell you it sure is comfortable.

It fits right where your neck is. The valve doesn't get in the way of your comfort.

This Travel Pillow is Unique:

This travel pillow gives neck or back support for travel in the:

  • Car
  • Airplanes
  • Chair for basic support at home while relaxing.
It is great as a customizable lumbar support pillow to give you extra comfort in office chairs, or anywhere you find yourself in need.
  • Low Profile - Relaxing shouldn't require you to feel claustrophobic. Relax without the bulkiness of traditional U-shaped neck pillows.
  • Self-Inflatable - Simply turn the easy-open valve, and within seconds your pillow will be ready to use. I did have to add extra air to ours.
  • Full Neck Support - The pillow center cradles the arch in your neck, providing ample support right where you need it.
  • Keep Your Head Up - Their unique side wings prevent your head from tilting, so you won't have to endure neck pain later.
  • Strap It On - No need to lose that perfect pillow placement. Secure it to your headrest with our handy elastic band.
  • Easy to Clean - Their fabric easily wipes clean with a damp cloth.

The Shape:

The unique, low-profile shape of the pillow cradles the arch in your neck--providing ample support right where you need it, and ditching the bulk where you don't. Unlike traditional neck pillows, the side wings of our design support your head from tilting, while still allowing you to interact with your neighbors. Best of all, its inflatable construction features a luxurious inner foam that gives support without a hollow, bouncy feeling of other inflatables.

Customers have also reported the pillow to be particularly useful for those with chronic neck pain and other spinal/neck conditions. Consider its use as a therapeutic neck pillow to reduce strain and provide ample support whenever and wherever it is needed.

My husband has both neck and back pain at times. I think this is perfect for him!

TheraRelief Review

One thing that Daddy struggles with sometimes is neck and back pain. He's actually resorted to a chiropractor at different times in his life.

TheraRelief provides instant pain relief for:
  • Arthristis
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Joint Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Sciatica - Pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling in the leg. It is caused by injury to or pressure on the sciatic nerve.
  • Chronic Pain

I'm all for trying other things, to avoid doctor and chiropractor fees.

TheraRelief helps fight inflammation in joints and muscles. It has all natural ingredients that are free of dangerous chemicals such as parabens. It includes over 27 deep penetrating clinically proven compounds including Glucosamine and Chondroitin that will help your body heal and recover, rather just mask or cover up the problem.

Ingredients:

Directions:

It's pretty easy to use. You just massage into the problem area once a day, or as needed. With this you may need 1 other person to massage TheraRelief in for you. I don't think Daddy could reach all his sore spots on his back himself. When you are down on your back, or neck you can't turn like you could if felt well.

Our Experience:

We haven't used it long enough to know the true results.

It does NOT have a strong "menthol" smell. It is odorless, does not burn, won't leave you greasy and does not have any known side effects.

I do like knowing that nothing toxic is in the 2 ounce container. So many things like have hidden ingredients in it that are bad for you. TheraRelief does not.

It will help you fight inflammation naturally while soothing joints and muscles affected by arthritis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, overuse pains and other strains.

I do think it's a little on the pricy side. Origially the price was $34.95, and it's on sale for $19.95. For 2 ounces, I think that's a little pricy. If it makes someone feel better the price is worth it. Often times you'd pay more than that price to go to a doctor, or chiropractor. This stuff will last awhile to. A little goes a long way.

Do you ever have any aches or pains?
