We play a lot of family games at our house. I really love the Stuff Happens series of games. Our whole family (aunts, uncles, sisters, nephews and niece) all got together to play the original, and they loved it!

Games are fun, build memories, and often times make you think.

Is discovering your kid’s secret booger wall better or worse than a failed homework assignment that you helped with?

I stress about Isaak tanking his Science Fair Project because I was the one that helped him. We started it around Christmas time, to get it out of the way. We followed Mica's board, which got an A at a Science Magnet Middle School. Just two weeks ago his Science teacher kept referring to their experiment. My face turned beet red, and I swear I could feel me heart beat in my face. His board looks great, but he didn't do a typical experiment. I hope he does ok. If he doesn't it's a lot on me. We worked hard on it. :( We put up Optical Illusions, got votes as to what image people saw first. Then he made bar graphs out of the votes. A typical experiment - not really. He does talk about how Optical Illusions have more to do with the brain, than sight. It's a bottom up process, which we also got into.

This whole year has been kind of rocky for him! Quite frankly I'm just done. We try to do our best to help him. There just isn't a lot of communication in 5th grade. They have homework assignments that are supposed to use pages in a book, which they can't take the book home. In science the teacher doesn't even use a book. They get all fun things taken away from them because their class doesn't behave the best. Isaak was getting an A in Science. Then at conferences we found out he was getting a C+. Then he tanked a test because he wasn't there for a review that everyone else got (he was finishing up his standardized testing). If he tanks this Science Fair Project I feel like it could be my fault!

With the question above, my kid failing their homework assignment with something I helped with is worse than him secretly putting boogers on a wall. He can clean those up.

How to Set Up the Game:

Mix the 200 cards up. Give each player 5 cards. Put the cards face up, in order by number. 

The other player or other team draws a card, says what the card is: "Kid Sabotages Class Picture". Then you or your team has to guess which two cards, or possibly before or after your first or last card it fits in. If you're right you or your team is one step closer to winning!

When I was about to pack the game away I saw this card: 

Isaak lost his little stuffed puppy in a hotel in Utah. It was such a big deal then. I paid for it to come back to us. He never named his stuffed animals, so we called his puppy No Name.

Parenting is tough at times!

Pop Trivia and Totally Trivia #games @GoliathGamesUS Review

I heart games! I'm an advocate of kids playing some video games, but a lot of card games and board games.

My kids have never had a video game station. No Playstation, or Wii. They do have Kindles with some games on them. Their time in playing with those is limited. They do use their Kindles for other things like watching videos, and looking up things for homework.

What are the positives when it comes to board games and card games?

• Social Skills 
• Communication Skills

Mica's always been a kid that does pretty awesome in school, but lacks some skills at home. I think games help him.

Goliath Games sent me Quiz Master Fantastic Pop Trivia - Questions From Every Genre, Every Decade and Quiz Master Terrific Totally Trivia - The Complete Quiz Game to review.

I love both games! 

• They don't take up a ton of room. They stack easy. 
• These are games that are great for the car, and traveling.
• There's 2 games, so each boy will get one for Easter! 
• The games should help Mica with his favorite thing at school - Quiz Bowl.

How to Play:

Both games are played similarly. If you are playing with teams, make sure they have the same amount of people, and are around the same ages. If young and old adults are playing, put young and old adults on each team. 

Roll the die to pick which team/player plays first. This team/player then states which decade or category they wish to venture and rolls the die. The team/player to their left takes one of the cards from the decade or category and reads out the question. 

If the first team/player chooses Rock and Pop and rolls a 6, they will be asked questions 6 on the rock and Pop card. 

If the team/player answers the questions correctly, they keep the card. If not, the card is returned to the bottom of the draw pile. 

Each team/player takes a turn.

As the team/players get different categories or decades right, they don't have to answer any more questions from that, and move on to other categories or decades. 

The game keeps going until all 6 categories or decades have been answered. 

*You could play in the car with just asking questions for fun. At that time you wouldn't play with a die at all. There would be no winner, or loser. Just time would be passed.

Adult Coloring Greeting Cards by @ColorfestCrafts Boxed Set Review

If I had more time, I'd color more. It's fun, relaxing, and inspiring. When I color I don't have to think of a concept, and my mind is free to come up with other ideas for illustrations that are all mine.

Color Time:

We took Mica to get a haircut last night for picture day today. While Isaak and I waited we colored. I said, "Isaak I have a job for you." He gave me a sigh. When he saw that I wanted us to color, his eyes lit up.

I colored with a lot of hatching lines. Isaak asked about my method of coloring. I talked to him about hatching, cross hatching, bracelet shading, and solid shading. 

It was fun to color. We didn't finish them, while Mica's hair was getting cut. We went home and we colored some more. 

Each Card Comes:

• With thick paper stock. This ensures that there is no bleeding through when gel pens, or markers are used.
• With a blank inside. You can make the card whatever you want. 
• With a white envelope.

• Used for any occasion. I think we'll use ours for Teacher Appreciation Days, or to lift someone's spirits up.

WW: 2012 Christmas Card {Linky}

I've had the front done for awhile.

The Disclaimer at the bottom that is oh so small says: Duct tape was not actually used.

I put it there just so some people wouldn't get all worked up thinking I taped my kid's mouths up. Photoshop does wonders.

The back is what took me FOREVER! My husband and I wrote things over and over again. It's not perfect, but it's good enough! My co-worker was laughing at me because I had a lady that was Jewish proofing it. She didn't care! Here's what we came up with:
