Silverware Set Review

I got this Silverware Set to review. I was excited to review it because our silverware is looking kind of old. I don't know that I love the design of our old set.

The new design is really pretty cool! I like the thin handles. It just looks different.

What it Comes With:

1 steak knife
1 spoon,
1 pasta fork
1 coffee spoon

I’d love it if there was just 2 spoons or 2 forks, and not a coffee spoon. It’s so small. I don’t know if we’ll use it. Travis handed Isaak the coffee spoon to eat his Potato Salad. That's not really what it's meant for, but he said, "What is this a baby spoon?" LOL!

When I first read the review I saw that it is a 4-piece set. I read that as it having 4 knives, 4 spoons, and 4 forks. You can imagine how I was surprised that it had only 4 things in the set. I'd have it be a little more money, and add more duplicated to the set.

Cost:

$11.74 on Amazon Prime http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZJ479X

Care:

It's made out of stainless steel. It washes safe in the dishwasher. I did notice that you have to put it in upside down to prevent the handles falling through the mesh dishwasher cubby. Black tableware surface mirror polished, no dirt, easy to oxidize, easy to clean. Every detail of the head is carefully treated and the smooth edges won't hurt your mouth. The forked cut is specially polished.

Food:

I made brats, potato salad, cut up radishes and peaches.

Are you happy with your silverware?

Random Tid Bits

  1. I never spent my Christmas Bonus until now. I decided to use it to stock up on groceries. The boys have been eating like crazy! They take turns with growth spurts. At the beginning of summer break it was Isaak that was starving, now it's Mica. Mica's the same hight as me now.

Those that have kids, do you feel like you spend way more in the summer on food than any other time during the year?

  2. Speaking of food...

I was talking to Travis about garden mulch.

All the sudden Isaak pipes in to say, "I really love the taste of mulches."

Curious as to what Isaak thought mulch was I asked, "What is mulch Isaak?"

Isaak said, "That brown stuff in a cup that comes up from the freezer, that we have to thaw out before drinking it."

I said, "Isaak that is called Good Rich malts. Not mulches. Mulch is the stuff that's in the garden."

He said, "Oh! Well I like malts then." On my grocery store run I bought some Good Rich malts." I so want to refer to them as "Mulches".

  3. Mica's a great kid for the most part. He's always gotten A's in school, but man his lack of effort in tasks at home is more like a D-. I would say it's an age/stage thing, but Isaak's always put in pretty good effort when it comes to home chores.

  4. Here's how Mica loads the dishwasher when there was all that space...

  5. We went to visit my parents. They just got back from a week long trip. Isaak starts feeling my Mom's arm fat and says, "Wow you're so muscular!" We all had a good laugh!

Random Tid Bits

  1. I'm back to being sick with something. I'm just a snot bucket, with a sore throat. I really could use some energy to get things done.

  2. Mica's been selected for many things at school lately. That's positive.

At home he just sits in his room and listens to music. He doesn't even read as much as he used to.

I went to his room and said, "Can you be my water boy by filling up glasses of water for dinner?" He said, "Ok. I'll do that." 5 minutes went by...no Mica. I finally started to yell at him. When he came into the kitchen I said, "Listen! Kids and husbands say that Moms yell and nag too much. If you don't want me to yell or nag, than do what I say the first time." After that I gave him jobs to do. It usually takes him 3 times to get the dishes washed right. He's learning.

  3. It usually takes Travis 2 times to get a load of laundry done right, so maybe Mica gets this having to do chores over and over again from his Dad. ;) Travis left 1/2 the pile of laundry on the floor, and wondered why the load was so small. Maybe I'll give him the chore of making laundry soap the next time that needs to be done. ;)

  4. Isaak has in his mind that he wants to make a really cool coffee pot Valentine box. I've never made crazy cool Valentine boxes with my kids. I've done cool Valentines. I aways feel like the box is just going to go in the trash. At least with Halloween costumes they are worn more than once. Isaak says he wants to use it for a few years. Travis is helping him make a coffee pot Valentine box. What's the coolest Valentine's or Valentine Box that you've made?

  5. My first year students are so with it that I've had to come up with more material for them for lectures. I don't find myself repeating as much as previous years. They just get things. :)

Random Tid Bits

  1. I'm happy to say that I love doing dishes, and laundry. Odd I know! When our water was turned off I hated using paper plates. I don't like wasting things! We had dishes covering the counter. I had two baskets full of laundry. Last night I did the dishes, and separated out the laundry. It felt good knowing that I could take care of them.

  2. Giving is a wonderful thing! My first year students all got brand new MacBooks. I didn't buy them. I got to help hand them out. It's so fun seeing the look on people's face when they get something they've wanted for awhile!

  3. I have one student that whines as much as Isaak does. I'm not joking. It's really sad when a college student whines as much as a 5 year old does. She's either whining because she doesn't get how to do something, whines because she's not as good as other students in the class, or whines because she hasn't gotten an award for a competition that they students enter every year. I feel for her, otherwise she wouldn't come to me to whine. At the same time I tell her, "If this stuff bothers you do something about it." Then her eyes fill up with tears. I just wish you could install confidence in some people. Other students are too conceited. Those students I wish I could knock down a notch.

  4. Another horrible thing happened this week. A little 5 year old girl named Payton was sitting eating breakfast with her mom and brother. A bullet went into their home, hit the girl and killed her. She's the same age as Isaak. The brother that was at the table is only 4 years old. No one knows who fired the shots. I'm just heart broken for this family! The area they lived in is the rough part of town. It doesn't matter. No one should worry about eating breakfast, and have a bullet enter their home! The family is trying to celebrate her life instead of grieve over it. They are strong people. Their only hope is that gun violence stops!

  5. To end on a happy note Isaak created a fun drawing I want to share. He spelled everything out himself.

Tea

I just got an email that Tea has an extra 25% off already marked down items. I wanted to let you know. I just bought things for Mica last week and couldn't find any codes. Now there is one right in my inbox that I won't use because I already bought what I wanted.

Use the code on here. I linked the photo to Tea's website.
I generally buy clothes for the following year at the end of the season, or after holidays where they are marked down. Since Isaak gets all of Mica's clothes, I don't buy a lot of new things for Isaak.

Here's what I bought:

They also have cute things for girls, women and eco toys, dishes and books! I didn't buy any of these things, but thought they were cute:
