There are key times to get jewelry: Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas. Valentine's Day just got over with, and the next jewelry giving holiday is Mother's Day.

Picking it Out:

I knew what ring I wanted as soon as I spotted it. They have initial rings, name rings where the whole name is cut out, and the one I picked out. I really love the way Mica and Isaak both look, so I wanted them both on a ring spelled out.

If you have more kids, you do need to buy more rings. I suppose they could give options for different kids 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. They are stackable. So people like my sister that has tons of kids, does have options to buy more rings. It would be hard if you have an odd number of kids. You can stack different colors, which is cool.

Finishing Colors:

They have Sterling Silver, Yellow Gold and Rose Gold. I went with what I wear the most: Sterling Sliver.

Sizes:

They range from 3-14. They even have 1/2 sizes. I actually have a pretty small ring size, normally. I went up, for a different finger. The one I got was slightly too big (my own fault), but what's great is with the kind of ring I picked, I can squeeze it slightly to get a better fit.

Gift:

I just got it on Friday. Boy am I in love with it! It came in a cute Centime package. Perfect for a Mom gift, on Mother's Day!

The ring I got was $28.05, so if you have to get more because you or your Mom has more kids it's not super expensive.

If I got my Mom one, I'd get her two rings. I had a sister pass away before I was born, so it would be Lisa, Angela, Alissa and Terra.

The ring its self had a plastic protector on it. It was super easy to take off.

Names:

I always worry about places spelling the boy's names wrong. They didn't! Mica gets Micah and Isaak gets Isaac. I even get Alyssa for Alissa. It's understandable. I kind of take pride that my boys names just look cool spelled out. 

They did a great job! The names are pretty small, but I can read them.

I have them on the same hand as I do their birthstones: Emerald and Paridot.

I Hope You Christmas!

Christmas Eve morning rolled around, and we were all still in Christmas Festivities madness.

My sister Terra was getting over Influenza A. My nephew Emerson and Brother-in-law both just got Influenza. Mica was going to bed at 7:30, for a few nights because he didn't feel good. Isaak was feeling better, but had Strep Throat earlier in the week and the week before.

We decided Emerson would stay home with his Dad. Otherwise we were good. I many times questioned if Mica had Isaak's Strep Throat, or an ear infection, but he remained fever free through all of it, so he went to have Christmas Eve with everyone.

Here's the best photo I could get of us. Mica's lips were like that in just about every shot. The ceiling is going to have a light up there. That's where the chimney flue went from our fireplace that we sold. For now it looks like a graduation hat on Mica's head. Am I right?

We went to church. It's something we only do about once a year. Sorry, but I'm truthful, plus there's a story there. My older sister dropped the bomb that they don't want to do the church thing anymore. I want to mention that we are faithful; we just don't go to church. Before the service I texted to my older sister to pick up hand sanitizer because my Aunt was asking for it. She texted, "See that's why I stayed back to get things ready, and get things like that. ;)" I texted and said, "Well I thought about it, but decided since I'm a few years younger than you I need to put a few more years in to going." I was surprised that Isaak participated in the youth sermon, and sang. 

After church we went back to my Mom and Dad's to have a huge meal of soups, shrimp, cheeses, sausages, dips, veggies, crackers, and more. 

That's when my Mom started looking really bad. Feverish! 

Everyone liked their gifts. We all loved the sweet treats a little too much!

Here's one photo of my youngest nephew walking around with the Spider-Man blanket we gave him. I gave him that, and a Paw Patrol video. For his birthday my sister said he loved PJ Masks. What did I get him for party plates? Paw Patrol. He'd never seen Paw Patrol. I said, "Well I'm getting him a Paw Patrol DVD, so he knows what it is."

I hardly get good photos of people unwrapping gifts, and spending time with each other. It's always dark when we have Christmas with my family, and dark when the boys open their gifts in the morning.

Here's a photo on Christmas Day of the boys with their cousin's the same ages as they are. My nephew Evan wanted a hoodie. It's hard to find one under $50! I just didn't want to pay that! I found one on Amazon for $28. Then my nephew Elijah wanted one. Then Mica saw me ordering it, so he wanted one. Isaak liked it too. Aunt Terra got my boys hoodies as well.

They are very complicated. Everything is paper! They each fit their personalities. Isaak's into plants. Mica's into books. I'm sick of Legos. Travis said, "Well you can put them together, and give them to your grandparents." Isaak said, "No way am I going to put that much work into something to have them put that out probably once a year." Ha! 

They got a lot of things they LOVE from their grandparents. No worries. I will do the paper sets with them. It may take a year, but we will get them done.

Christmas morning I got up at 7. Isaak was on the love seat at 6! Just waiting... until we all got up. This is the first year he hasn't believed in Santa. I'm glad he was still excited for Christmas! He doesn't look excited in this photo. He was just sick of waiting for us!

Mica's Spacex Long Sleeve Shirt:

BUT Mica decided to slice the box with a scissors, and sliced his shirt. We had to pick on him because in preschool he took his shirt, and cut it with a safety scissors right in the middle. This time he sliced right in between the A. I ordered a new one, thinking the sliced one could be a night shirt. But I did decide to try and sew it. I didn't do too bad, so I canceled my order. The best option would be fabric tape, but I'm not a sewer, so I didn't have any. 

I was oddly excited about these steam punk glasses I got last minute. Isaak loved trying some on at The Mall of America. I don't know how much he'll really wear them, but they look crazy, and fun.

I gave both boys Cheez-it Boxer Briefs, in Cheez-it Cracker boxes. The crackers remained closed, and I slid the boxers in there. It was just a fun way to give their gifts.

I loved Code Piano, I got for Isaak to review. 

Travis and I didn't get each other too much. We got our new phones. That was a lot! 

He did pick out a saw, and a tortilla press. I got a Pizza Peel last minute, to review. He ended up loving it, and made pizza right away. It kind of looks like a spanking paddle. Ha!

I got a few shirts I picked out, and a new kitchen mat. I know not that exciting, but I really wanted a new mat! Our old one was peeling. Plus this one is red. Why not add more color into my already colorful kitchen?

I also got a Kamboocha Starter Kit, from my Mom. I asked for it, but I'm slightly nervous trying it out. All I have to do is follow the instructions, but I'm horrible with instructions. Only I could mess up Amish Friendship Bread, that was passed down to me. I have to get past this fear of screwing things up.  

Both boys hugged us when they got their first game station, PlayStation 4. I have a lot to learn. Who knew it only came with one controller? Not me. I didn't know you have to pay extra to play online with other people. It's all new to me. I told that to the Game Stop guy, when Mica went to pick out a few games.

There is one child in our house that's always been a reader. Any guesses who that might be? It's Mica! Even when he was itty bitty we would read to him. That's the only time he sat still. Now when books aren't around he'll read junk mail on the table. He reads though his textbooks at school. One teacher thought he didn't like a book he borrowed because he got it back to her in one day. Nope he read it all! He's volunteered at the library for a few years now, and was selected to do Quiz Bowl in school because of his literary knowledge.

The first I picked out is Edgar Allan Poe. I like this one because when we went to Mesa Verde a crow perched up on an ancient window. It sat there just long enough for me to get some great photos.

The second I picked out is The Wizard of Oz. Travis read The Wizard of Oz to the boys, we all enjoy the movie, and a big pop-up book we have.

The third I picked out is Huckleberry Finn. I made Mica read Huckleberry Finn because I find it's a classic - must read. Then at conferences we asked if they have to read any classics, and mentioned this book. His teacher said, "That's a book I had to read when I was in school. Nope the kids don't have to read that." Well Mica has. ;)

The second I picked out is Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland. I just always liked the story. Alice was quite the day dreamer, and had a crazy imagination. I think many artist types like this adventure.

The third I picked out is Dracula. I like anything spooky, so Dracula fits the ticket.

The third I picked out is Frankenstein. It's just creepy cool. I had both boys be Little Frankie for Halloween when they were itty bitty.

GrandBox Review

Send Grandma and/or Grandpa a GrandBox. It's the perfect gift for Grandparent's Day, their birthday, Christmas, or just to show them how much they are loved!

Before I got the box I didn't really know who to give the box to:

• My grandpa would love to get this considering he can't drive, and hardly gets mail. If it goes to my Grandpa - I'll add a fidget spinner because he got into playing with one at our house.

• My parents help out the most. They really bend over backwards to help take care of the boys. It would be nice to send this to them. 

• My in-laws never get to see the boys. They would like to get mail as well.  

Now I still don't know. My Dad is on a very limited diet due to psoriasis around his eyes, my Mom is on that same diet trying to loose weight, my Mother in Law is dieting due to weight loss, my Father in Law I can't see liking many of the snacks, and my Grandpa I can't see liking anything but the cookies. Most of them are on the Paleo Diet.

My boys will like everything in it, so I'm going to indulge, and let them have the snacks. I'll save the dice game for a kid's friend birthday party. We already have the game.

I do love the idea of sending this to someone the boys and I love! If the grands in my life weren't dieting it would be great for them.

What came in the GrandBox:

I thought maybe the grands would like the room spray, but my mom said, "No." I'll keep it in our bathroom. It's Honey and Almond Room Spray.

My boys love cookies! I used to make them more. Isaak was all excited about Maple Creme Cookies from Dare.

I like BigSlice Kettle Cooked Apples. I like them on top of Apple Sauce. One morning this week we'll have to have this for breakfast.

We have a few Tenzi Dice Games already.  I got them to review awhile back. Isaak love the one he has, my nephew Elijah is getting one for Christmas, and I'll save this one for one of Isaak's friend's birthday. Have you played this?

I generally find myself hooked into artsy stores. One store I just can't get enough of is UncommonGoods! They just have so many unique gifts. I've bought and have had presents bought for me since around 2000. For you long time readers, you know I seek out different types of music. I do the same with stores, art, clothing, and more.

About UncommonGoods:

UncommonGoods was founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. It is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people.

• They run all their operations out of the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal. I'd love to see their headquarters. It totally sounds like a unique business!

Since graduation is coming up I thought I could get some inspiring presents for some great people - myself included!

Mica just finished elementary school. Now I know it's not a graduation per say. To me it's more of an accomplishment than graduating preschool was. Mica spent 6 years at his elementary school. It is a time in his life where one chapter ends and another one begins. In his case most of his friends will be going to a different middle school. Sigh!

Every teacher should have Inspiring things!

I got his teacher this Inspirational Pencil Set! Teacher's need more support than they get!

We all need a set of Inspirational Pencils! They each say something a little different: Hustle Hard, Be Awesome Today, Good Vibes Only, Do Your Best, and I Can and I will.

Since my own students graduate I got a few gifts for me. I'm a teacher too! College instructor's rarely get anything.

I thought the book, F in Exams would be wonderful to read when I'm recovering from my sinus surgery coming up. It's a book full of wrong answers, or different answers than what the teacher expected.

Apparently someone else thought this book would be great to read as well! Mica was laughing his geeky self off when he was reading it!

I got my sister a necklace called Protection Necklace. 

She didn't graduate from anything, but my nephew Emerson did! He graduated from preschool! Since he has a genetic disorder it is a very big deal to graduate from preschool. His life expectancy isn't what most people's would be. I thought this necklace could help my sister through rough times ahead. He's in and out of the hospital a lot, so my sister needs all the support she can get.

It came in the best box:

Possibly my only thing to add would be a finger print on the back of the angel to match the rest of the artist's branding. I know the cost would go up. Then it would match the box, and the card. If the necklace got flipped around on accident, the finger print would show. Or if the person wearing it could flip it on purpose for whatever mood they are in. A different necklace every other day.

It's so sweet though! I love the design of it! The length of the chain is perfect!

Can you tell that Emerson is a punk with taking pictures. I'd say it's because his hearing aid wasn't on, but he's like that even when it is. We had quite a few photos like this actually.

Finally he looked up! :) He's lost some teeth, so he has a toothless grin.

The necklace was on back order, but I still got it fairly fast. Everything shipped quickly!
