Have You Ever Felt Judged for What You Felt Was Right?

A place I was at on Friday - I made a comment about a guy that was whistling. I said happily, "I always wish I could whistle like you can. I tried so much when I was little, and I just never could put together a tune." His response, "Maybe if you take that mask off you could." One person nearby started laughing and said, "That was good!"

Here's the thing...they don't know me. I have two relatives that have compromised immune systems from Trisomy 18, I have parts of my nose that is missing from a nose surgery, asthma, allergies, a close friend that just passed away from Covid leaving a 14 and 17 year old behind, and many family members that were or in some cases are nurses that stand with science. I'm wearing that mask for others really more than myself.

I'm not a Karen that says things like, "You know you really should wear a mask." I just walk around with mine on. I know I can be a carrier no matter what. If my kids have to wear a mask to school, Travis has to wear a mask at the dental lab he works at, I feel that I should do the right thing and wear one too.

So far I haven't had to get a Covid test at all. I hope to stay that way, for as long as I can.

I can't shake this feeling that I'm being judged for wearing a mask. Was that comment, or the giggles after necessary? Am I just being too sensitive? To me jokes can be funny, but that didn't humor me. It made me feel bad, for doing what I feel is right all weekend long.

I found this campaign. I thought it was pretty good concept wise. Even if you aren't a masker. It still has a great idea that's taken in to more than one piece in the campaign. The client is Mucinex.

A Face Covering Review

Do you think masks and face coverings help fight the spread of covid?

I think it helps. I have both asthma and allergies, and need my lungs to be as healthy as possible.

Recently when I went to get my allergy shots, I asked my nurse if he knew anyone with this invisible beast of a virus. He told me his son’s best friend has it. He’s needing lung support, is near death, is young, and had no other health conditions.

I do have issues with breathing at times, so things tight against my face can be a problem. I do have some solutions:

• Coconut Oil with a Q-Tip in the Nose - ok via my ENT Doctor

• More Ginger Intake - Ginger Helps With Inflammation

• Face Shields, for People that Can Breathe Well

• Face Coverings VS Only Masks

This face covering is more breathable, then most masks. There’s over 40 designs to choose from. I chose this thinking Mica would like it. He said he feels like he’s wearing a hijab. Had I known he didn’t like it, I may of picked a different design.

I did have trouble with it being loose on my face. A few things to try with this:

• Wash any mask or face covering. Many shrink slightly, making them fit better on skinny faces.

• You can twist the ear piece.

• Knot the ear loops.

Anti-Dusk Face Mouth Mask Review

Everyone that's been reading my blog for awhile knows I have allergies and asthma. Travis does most of the yard work. I do however suck up leaves when it's fall time. He grew up in the country where the leaves just broke down naturally. Here in the city the leaves get into gutters, or kill the grass if they aren't taken care of.

I have to admit that I wear a respirator when I suck up the leaves. It's tight against my face, and protects my lungs.

When I dust things inside that haven't been dusted in awhile I wear a dust mask.

I recently was sent an Anti-Dusk Face Mouth Mask Ear Loop Washable Dust Mask to review.

You can get this mask here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072PZM21C?th=1

At first I kept thinking that the name in their mask "Anti-Dusk" was a typo, but it's on all their promotional items. I thought it was supposed to be, "Anti-Dust".

Features:

Material: Cotton and Polyester

Ear Loops: They have 4 elastic bands that come off the mask. They need to be tied to form a loop to fit around the ears.

The Size: 7.5"x4.5"

Unisex: They have masks that are for guys and girls. It's even funny when a guy wears a girl mask and a girl wears a guy mask.

Cost: $12.99

Function:

Anti-Dust, Anti-Smoke, Anti-Fog, Keeping Warm, Germs, Allergies, Smoke, Pollution, Ash, Pollen, Crafts, Gardening, and Travel.

I'm not sure how functional it really is. The mask isn't tight over the face. If you really want dust and other germs to be gone I don't know that it's really going to be super protective if particles can get through the top, and sides of the mask. The whole reason why I wear a respirator to suck up leaves in the fall is so I'll have something super tight against my face. Other masks have a metal clip on the nose part, so it fits snug against the face. This one does not.

I do think it's functional in the fact that it will help keep me warm in the winter. Cold air is a trigger for asthma. If I go out walking, jogging, or cycling in the winter this mask may be worn. Ha! I'd have to see how well it keeps smoke out. Right now because I had deviated septum and polyp surgery I just have been staying away from smoke. I didn't even go outside during the 4th of July. Smores were made in the oven under broil. I will try it out for smoke though. I could see it helping. I just wish again that the nose part would be more snug.

Fashion:

The mask is well made. I like the material. It's durable, and can be washed over and over again! The fact that it can be washed puts it over disposable masks.

I'm not a big fan of the ear bands. I had to tie them together. I was thinking that they'd have velcro, or just be one piece per ear band.

Funny:

I think more than anything the masks they make are just funny! My boys were laughing so hard when we tried it on! I could see wearing it for Halloween. I'd just have to think of what to be that would go with the mask.

Indian Healing Clay Review

Have you ever used clay on your body? I have not. I've seen people post about it, and wanted to give it a try. I got Indian Healing Clay for review.

I have to admit I was a little afraid to try it out.

Therapeutic Strengths:
  • Skin pore cleansing - Shrinks pores, tightens, and tone them
  • Detoxifying - This is a better detox than Calcium Bantonite
  • Revitalization
  • You can use it on any skin type - Oily, dry, or sensitive skin
  • Helps to sooth and heal including cuts, bruises, insect bites, bee stings etc
Use:

Indian Healing Clay Powder comes in a 16 Oz container. It's $22.99, but on sale for $12.95. It's made in the US. Wyoming to be exact. There are no additives.

I was expecting it to be a liquid mud, but it's a powder. That's great because the mask won't dry out.

You mix the clay powder with equal parts of water. Just make a little. I made way too much the first time, and had to throw some away.

Apply it to the face, and let it harden for 20 minutes once a week.
This is when I first applied it. No I'm not pretty with it on. It dries, so the clay absorbs into your skin. The boys kept laughing at me. I laughed saying, "I don't know why you keep laughing at my face. There's nothing wrong with it."

Towards the end of the 20 minutes your face feels tight, like you can't move. You just wash your face off with warm water.

Next time I'm going to try 15 minutes. My face was bright red after I washed it. It could be red because I never really scrub my face very hard. I usually use my hands, and not a washcloth to clean my face. I didn't have any continued break out problems after about 20 minutes.

Clay makes a fabulous facial mask, for shrinking pores, tightening and toning skin, removing impurities, and just making your skin look and feel great.

Today my face feels softer than it has in a long time. I have very sensitive skin. My face isn't red, or in pain at all.

New Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. I've been so behind with finals and Christmas around the corner. I've been using the New Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask and Dream Essence Sleep Serum for awhile now, and love it. I just haven't written about it.

The Zeepo Mask is $19.95 on their website. It is really comfortable because it is soft and strapless. It comes with double-sided tape that is FDA- approved, which are medical grade hypo-allergenic and latex free.

I was a little worried about applying tape to my face just because my skin is so sensitive. It worked out just fine. The tape doesn't bother me at all. Included with the Zeepo Mask is 2 sheets of disposable adhesive (36 strips). That's enough for 18 nights of sleep. They help the mask to not slide around, and block out 100% of the light. I've even used the mask without the tape, and it alone blocks out a lot of light.

Sometimes Daddy is up later than I am, or I'm up later than he is. When that happens this mask can be used. To clean it you just hand wash it. It's so small it takes no time at all.

The Dream Essence Sleep Serum was such a great bonus. It's only $2.95! You just dab a small amount behind your ears, or temples. It helps Daddy go to sleep. I on the other hand fall asleep so easily with, or without the serum. I've just always have been an easy sleeper. The serum does feel good to put on, and it smells so good! The aroma and your bodies absorption of the essential oil mix is designed to relax and help you drift off to slumberland.

It's Giveaway Time!
A US reader is going to win a Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask and Dream Essence Sleep Serum by Dream Essentials.

Something Old - String Holder

We have this really old string holder. It came from my my Great Aunts and Uncle, which would be the boy's Great Great Aunts and Uncle.

They used this type of string holder because they used to not have twisty ties like they do today. The spool sits inside the face and comes out her mouth. I saw one other similar at an antique shop once selling for $500. I don't think ours is worth much because the owners before us dropped it, broke it, or opened a door into it.

It still is cool. I love that it's hanging in our kitchen. I tell the boys she's eating spaghetti. Sometimes I forget that string is in her mouth. I'll need a piece of string, and I'm looking all over the house for it. String should always be accessible in our house.
