Nursery Rhyme Questions

This morning Isaak was so chatty on the way to pick up his cousin Elijah.

He was talking about the moon. He was wondering if it is bigger than any dinosaur that existed? I told him that I thought the moon was bigger.

I asked him, "I wonder what it would be like if there was a trampoline on the moon?" He thought that was a cool idea!

I asked him, "Isaak do you think cows jump over the moon?" He laughed and said, "No because I've never seen them jump at all."

I asked him if Little Jack Horner existed? He said, "No because he needs a plate to eat pie. In the nursery rhyme they don't talk about him having a plate at all."

I asked him if Humpty Dumpty is a real character? He said, "No, he's a cool character Mom, but there's no way an egg could be a person."

Crazy Traits

I wanted to blog about these traits that the boys have before I forget them.

Mica's been talking then his lips keep moving even though he's done talking. It's almost like his lips say another sentence after he says the sentence. You just can't hear any words. I mentioned this at conferences to his main teacher and the speech teacher. They both said to ignore it. They said that kids sometimes go through crazy things like that. It's just a phase. I really want to video tape him doing it just to show you what I'm talking about. It's really odd. Of course if I did that, I'd bring attention to it. He also blinks a lot when he's tired.

Isaak says: "Dendent" for Didn't, "Selery" for Sorry, "Suncunt" for Second, "Ermasen" for Emerson and "Micker Donalds" for McDonalds. The last one cracks me up the most. A few I've mentioned on here before. Isaak demands that I say, "Goodbye" to his potty before he flushes it. Odd, I know. I think all preschoolers have a little oddness to them. They are little, funny people. ;)

Around The Table Family Talk Game

  • I just won and got a game called Around the Table Family Talk
  • It's great because we've been trying to sit around in a circle and just talk about our day, and ask each other questions.
  •  Usually Isaak answers every question with, "I not know."
  • We tried the game out tonight. We clearly need to play it more!
  • Mica was asked the question, "What would you do if someone offered you cigarettes?" He said, "I'd smile and say 'thank you." I don't even think he knows what cigarettes are. It was pretty funny.  We of course corrected him after I got done laughing.

2 Way Conversations!

  • Isaak's been having 2 way conversations a lot.
  • He's down for a nap and his conversation sounds like this:
Isaak one: Are you Isaak?
Isaak two: No! I Isaak Jaxon Apel
Isaak one: Who's in your family?
Isaak two: Isaak Jaxon Apel, Bica {Mica} Zachary Apel, Mommy, Daddy, Gandma {Grandma}, Gandpa {Grandpa} and so on...
  • Then he breaks out into song.
  • I wonder if he'll talk and sing himself to sleep? Maybe his conversation is too deep for that! LOL
