WW: Fall Festival

My boys had their Fall Festival at school on Friday. Dressing up is completely optional. I didn't know if we'd be able to go. We were supposed to have company that weekend. As it turned out the in-laws couldn't make it. :(

Mica wanted so bad to be a Star Wars character. I refused to pay full price for an adult costume. I love Halloween, but I have a few rules: I don't want to spend a long time on a costume, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a costume, and I try and use some of what I already have or go to the second hand store to get some things. He decided to go with Captain America once again. It's getting a little tight. For sure next year he'll need an adult sized costume.

To Isaak every Halloween should be scary, so he went as a Zombie again. The costume was huge last year, and fit well this year. He ripped it by yanking it out of his drawer. Travis decided to Duct tape it and staple it together instead of sewing it. Perfect!

I'm something new almost every year. Since I teach at an art college dressing up is something most teachers do. I won a banana package off of Mail4Rosey's blog. I rolled with that. I had on crazy pattered tights, and a yellow skirt. I couldn't decide if I should paint yellow over my whole face, arms, and have all yellow hair. I ended up with this:

Do you dress up for Halloween?

I do love that banana costume. I don't normally dress up, but I love to see all of the people who do. I could see smoke coming out of the top of Jason's head he was so ticked at how much Allison sneaked into the cart for her costume, for a grand total of $50 lol. The costume wasn't bad, it was the cost of all the accessories that added to the bill. I told him just wait until prom rolls around and then let me know how he feels about that bill hahahaha!

Great costumes! I love yours too! My son had that same Zombie Costume. I know what you mean about spending a lot of money on costumes. I hate to do it! I am taking my son to buy one this afternoon. He has a half day. An yes, my 12 year old will need an adult costume too....

I love your banana costume. I haven't dressed up for several years, but I love to see the small children's costumes when they Trick or Treat.

I like to buy costumes when they're on 90% clearance. I don't spend a lot of $ on them either.

I hate dressing up for Halloween, so I quit doing it years ago. Love the costumes choices though! They look great!

Wow. You look like Carmine Miranda! That's a good costume. We just had masks from the dime store when I was a kid. But when my kids were little, my wife sewed them really nice costumes. On Halloween I'm going to post some pictures of mine when they were about 7 and 8 years old. It always makes me smile to see those pictures, but it makes me feel a bit sad, too. My kids are adults now...

Love the banana costume! Costumes can be quite expensive so I agree with you to use them as long as you can.
