Fall Clothes for a Baby

I just got this cute baby girl outfit to review, for my niece Margaret.

She has Trisomy 18 like her big brother Emerson does. She's still in the hospital. Only my mom, dad, sister and brother-in-law have been able able to see her. That's not counting the numerous doctors and nurses that have helped her.

She's had a MRI, EEG, and a sleep study done. She's for the most part doing well. We've known that she needed jaw surgery, but after the sleep study that doctor wants to make that happen ASAP. Lots going on, for them. It's a good thing my parents are retired, and can help out.

When I get the opportunity to review clothes for Margaret, I jump on it! They've only had boys this far, so why not get neutral or girl clothes? All baby clothes are so cute.

Recently I got a fall outfit to review. You can get it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G134KKM, for $10.98-$11.98.

Colors:

  • Mustard Yellow
  • Pink
  • White

I thought with fall, the mustard color would be great. Plus we've been having this discussion - do baby girls have to wear pink? Some family members say, "Yes", while other family members say that color has no gender. I don't think pink always needs to be on girls. I watched an old video once that said pink used to be a boy color, and blue was for girls. Before that all babies wore white gowns to make it easier to change diapers, and bleach out stains. What do you think? Is pink a girl color, and blue a boy color?

It Has a Hat, or Hair Tie

That's yet another thing we disagree on. Travis thinks big bows, flowers, and ties on babies look so dumb. I don't mind them. I just can't tie them all pretty like.

Sizes, for This Outfit:

  • 0-3 Month
  • 3-6 Month
  • 6-12 Month
  • 12-18 Month

I love that it doesn’t have built in feet. Often times babies have smaller or longer legs that just don’t fit right in them. I like the snaps, that make diaper changing easier.

Are you ready for fall?

Disclaimer: I got this product, for a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Random Tid Bits

  1. When I review a company, and their product(s) I try and give my honest opinion. I had a company message me thanking me for a professional review. They asked me why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5?

I replied back with, "I love your product. It worked well, and can be cleaned great. It just doesn't come in very many color options. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5."

They messaged me back saying, "What colors would you like to see?" I messaged back, "All the main colors. You do not have any warm colors like red or orange."

They messaged me back saying, "We'll get those colors in our next inventory. Can you please go back to Amazon to give us a 5 star rating?"

I didn't message them back. They told me my review was professional. Do you think that it's professional to mark 5 stars when I don't think it's a 5 star product? It's supposed to be my honest opinion. Not a sugar coated opinion. At times I mentally blacklist a company if they don't send out a product to a winner, or me if I've won. I guess someone asking me to change my rating gets added to my blacklist to.

  2. I generally just throw the boy's clothes at them in the morning and say, "Time to get dressed!" One day I asked Isaak to pick out his clothes the night before. This is what he had laying out:

  3. At times I think artists would make great secretaries. Well...only the organized ones. I teach Color and Design Theory. If a student turned in a project that looks like the kid's school flyers I'd fail them. Oh my goodness there is no contrast. Do not put black type on blue paper, red type on black paper, or yellow type on white paper. You need really good lightly to read most of the kid's flyers from school.

  4. We've been looking into middle schools for Mica. There are a few school around here that have 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. I signed him up for one, but who knows if he'll get in. I guess the area that lives there gets first dibs on if their kid(s) go there, or not. On one hand it would be nice to have Mica and Isaak in the same school another year. On the other hand I don't care for the 5th grade teachers at the boy's school right now. Time will tell.

  5. When I was younger if someone said the same thing at the same time as you we both said, "Jinx you owe me a Coke!" The boys say this all the time, and for them it never gets old. Except they yell out, "Jinx you owe me a soda pop!" Did you ever say this growing up? What did you say?

BriaUSA Cascade Hangers Set of 10 Light Green Review

I ordered a large shirt for Mica online. I just got it in the mail, and I couldn't believe when I looked at the number on the tag. A large is a 14. He's wearing the same size of shirt as a 14 year old! He's not even 10 yet. The next size up is super hard to find - extra large in boys, or extra small in men's.

I needed to move the kids up from children's hangers, to adult hangers. Some of Mica's shirts I've already moved over, but I needed more hangers. I am happy to get BriaUSA Cascade Hangers Set of 10 Light Green.

BriaUSA Cascade Hangers Set of 10 Light Green Steel Swivel Hooks -Slim, Sturdy Saves You Extra Space

Our closest are super tiny in our house, so space is everything!

I love when products were made in the USA. BriaUSA started in Texas.

The Back to the Future Great Scott t-shirt is a size large! It's hard to believe that my 9 year old is in a size 14!

His shirts will no longer fall off their hangers. The hangers are sturdy. They don't feel like they are going to break in pieces.

Features:
  • 10 PCS PREMIUM QUALITY: slim construction saves space; your closet accommodates more clothes.
  • CASCADING HOOK: increases your closet storage capacity.
  • SWIVEL HOOKS: sturdy steel swiveling design attaches to the shoulders for easy maneuvering.
  • NOTCHED SHOULDERS: prevents cloths from slipping, provide extra support for garments.
  • MULTI-PURPOSE: great for hanging Suits, Jackets, Pants, Shirts, Dresses, Blouses & Accessories.
  • Backed by full money back guarantee. They sell on Amazon for $19.99, but are on sale for $14.95.
What kind of hangers do you prefer? I like wood ones in my coat closet, but I prefer sturdy plastic ones in my bedroom closet.

That Doesn't Work

My boys are pretty good about doing tasks. Mica takes out the garbage, Isaak dumps the compost, they each take things down to the recycle bin, Mica will get clothes out of the dryer to bring up, Isaak's good at sweeping, and the list goes on.

One thing that they are not good at is getting their clothes out in the morning, or at bath time. I get their clothes out in the morning, throw them on their bed. If I'm missing anything like socks or undies they each yell out, "Mom you forgot to..."

I then reply, "Get it yourself!"

Then I hear grumbles. It's like they are cussing, but actual cuss words don't come out.

This weekend Dad had a gig at our local art museum.

I was making fried chicken, sweet potatoes, and green beans. Before I started making dinner I told the boys to go start taking their baths, so we could start watching the third harry Potter movie.

Source
When Mica was done I heard him say, "Mom get my pjs!"

I said, "Mica my fingers are sticky with egg and chicken. You need to get your own pjs."

Mica said again, "Mom get my pjs! I'm cold"

Apparently he didn't hear me.

I said, "Take your cold self to your room. You need to get your own pjs." only louder.

Even after he heard me he kept repeating himself. It was as if he wanted me to drop what I was doing to go help him. If I wasn't so tired myself (I woke up that day at 4 AM) I would have taken back watching Harry Potter.

It's during a time like that where I was thinking, Is he going to be like that with his wife someday?

I wouldn't say my kids are lazy. But man they sure could grow up with getting their own clothing.

New Underwear

Isaak tucked his shirt right into his new underwear. It looked kind of funny and cute at the same time.

A Win Win With Tea

Go Graham Go is hosting a giveaway for Tea Collection. I seriously could buy out the store if I had the money. I love their clothes that much!

I got Mica this shirt on clearance:

Along with a few other things that will fit later on. I love that their clothes will last from one kid to the next. A lot of times I buy good quality shirts from places for Mica that will in return get handed down to Isaak. As far as pants go, I buy them at Target or on the clearance rack wherever. In the past I have spent money on pants and I tell you what, it doesn't matter. They wear the knees down. Somehow, someway, expensive or not they get holes in their pants.

My Baby Clothes Boutique Product Review and Giveaway

My Baby Clothes Boutique

This is such a classic hat. It makes my little boy stylish! Fedoras are back! This hat is made to last. The material inside is so soft.

I got size 2-4, and it is a little big. Isaak has a tiny head. I'm sure it would fit most kids his age. I don't mind that it's a little big. It can just fit him longer.

I did get the wrong hat at first. I had to do a double take; that's how similar the other hat looked to the one we ordered. My Baby Clothes Boutique was so great about sending me a shipping label right away. I shipped it back with no cost from me! Then they got me the correct hat right away. :) They seriously have the best customer service!

I have to admit that I had a hard time deciding what to buy at My Baby Clothes Boutique. Everything is so fashionable. I love all their baby hats! I had to go through 10 of them with Daddy before we decided what to get.

My Baby Clothes Boutique has such cute baby head bands, baby clothes and if I had a little girl I'd be first in line to get one of their adorable tutus!

I Need Motherly Advice From a Mother or a Father

My oldest is going to be 6 on Wednesday. He is not a picky boy with food. We've done our best to give him a variety of things to eat throughout his life. All the sudden, during this past summer he's become picky with clothes! I've never heard of a 6 year old boy being so picky! My husband's co-worker's 6 year old son is the same way. That made me feel a little better.

So what does Mica want to look like EVERY day:

He wants to wear a button down shirt, he prefers a tie. Why? Because he says, "I want to look handsome Mommy!" Many days I say, "No! You have to wear a t-shirt because it's a play day. You are handsome in t-shirts Mica!" He almost refuses to get dressed.

Am I cramping his style? Should I buy him more button down shirts because that's what he likes?
or
Is this one of those picky food type things? Where he needs to just wear what's in his closest because Mommy says so. I bought all the fun t-shirts. Should he be forced to wear them? Kind of like eating the food that's on their plate.

This is what we're dealing with at home right now. I honestly don't know what direction I should take. I never thought I'd have this problem with a 6 year old boy.

Go Graham Go is hosting a giveaway for one winner to win a $100 gift certificate to Tea Collection.  I'm hoping to win because good boy clothes are so hard to find. Most have sports splashed all over them. Our boys are not into sports yet.

I know Mica would wear this and call himself "Handsome!":
