Random Tid Bits

  1. I'm not on Instagram. Should I be? I'm on here way too much as it is. Sometimes I feel like a high school girl. Everybody else is doing it. Maybe I should be to.

  2. If you are on it, what do you like it?

  3. I caved and bought hardbound book: The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.

I swear I get into children's books just as much as my kids do. The story started with an award winning app, then lead to an Academy award winning short film, and now it's a book. I simply love the illustrator Willima Joyce's work. He also did the books and TV show Rolie Polie Olie and the book and movie Rise of the Guardians (which I haven't seen).

The book is interesting, sad and happy. It kind of gives you the same feeling the movie Up! does. It's about something gained, and something lost. I've posted the short film before, but if you want to watch it, it can be found here. The boys loved both the book, and the short.

  4. I learned something last week. I learned how to make a downloadable PDF on a blog post. You can sign in with your Facebook account on scribd.com. Upload the PDF, title it, write in a description, save and continue. Then it has an Embed option. Copy the code, paste it into blogger, or Wordpress and you have it. It's much easier than I thought.

  5. It's the last week of school! YAY!

  6. It's the last week of the boy's school. I'd say YAY, but it's difficult keeping them busy. We have Mica in camps most of the summer, but Isaak's not old enough for many of them. I'll say YAY when he is. I'll say double YAY when Mica is old enough to stay home alone some.

I love Instagram. There are a few people that use it for "business" but most people I follow and myself personally, I use it to photograph everyday stuff. Sometimes things aren't worthy of posting to FB or tweeting, but sometimes they are. With instagram I can take my pictures and share them on both sites at once if I want - or not share them anywhere but on instagram.

For example, I just took a picture of cupcakes that Chris brought me. Not worth sharing everywhere, but it gives people who care enough to follow me on instagram a little peek into my everyday life.

We've still got a couple of weeks of school yet.

My daughter is on Instagram and she loves it.

I see where sponsors are asking for it more and more on their application forms.

Hubby and I don't have smart phones so we don't have Instagram accounts.

I have an instagram account and the app on my phone but I don't use it much.

I've never heard of that book but my oldest used to watch Rolie Polie Olie and I've seen Rise of the Guardians, it's a great movie, I highly recommend seeing it.

School doesn't end for my kids until June 12. Enjoy your summer break!

I know you must be relieved for the last week of school. I hope you have a great summer. And YES you should be on Instagram! It's awesome. So cool to share and see pictures on there. I really love it. If you decide to download it, find me on there under optimistic_existentialist. Hope to see you on there!

I am on Instagram and use it occasionally. I don't share all of my photos on my blog posts or Facebook, so like Robin says, it's just a small glimpse into our every day lives for those who care enough to follow on there. I will use it for business if a sponsor asks, but mainly, I like to keep it as personal of an account that I can.
