Random Tid Bits

  1. Last night I worked 8-4:40, picked up the boys by 5, came back to work by 6:15, and worked until 9:30. You can say that I'll be tired on today - Friday. (I'm pre-writing this). The students have a portfolio review night. Pros come in looking at their portfolios. Some of them get jobs out of going to it. I wish they had a night like that when I was in school.

  2. This sickness that we've had is crappy! We're all still feeling it. Mica flat out won't blow his nose unless someone tells him to. He'll go the whole school day with a snotty nose. I make him do the netti pot when we get home. Let's just say he should be blowing his nose! Isaak sounds like he's smoked for years - cough, cough, cough. I still don't sound myself when I talk. I've resorted to my inhaler. I don't like doing things like that, but it's pretty important to be able to breathe.

  3. I found out our Education Director is leaving. :( While she wasn't perfect (like anyone is - including myself); I will miss her. It's nothing bad. She's just ready to retire. She's the only female that works with me on a consistent basis. The boss' wife works here to, but she eats in her husband's office. No offense, but I need female time sometimes. I live with boys, and work with them to.

  4. I think it's crazy that we have more problems with race now than we have in awhile. Why do I think it's crazy? Because we finally have an African American President.

  5. I watched this video this last week. A great video on copyright infringement. It makes me sad that I got so into Cabbage Patch Kids. They should have had FRAUD stamped on their butts instead of Xavier Robers. He stole the design, idea from Martha Nelson Thomas.

Strange you mention cabbage patch kids. The original store was in Cleveland, Georgia and we went there with our little kids a lot. They had babies that were "delivered" from under a turnip leaf. Later the guy that owned the store built a huge hotel and recreation center outside the town, but it went broke years ago and has been sitting out there slowly falling to pieces. I didn't know there was any issue over the origin of the dolls but I'm not surprised.

I hope your family gets well soon. It makes life a lot harder to have to deal with all that on top of the normal stress.

Sorry you guys are still feeling the illness :(

That makes me sad to learn that about Cabbage Patch. I adored them as a child and remember being interviewed in kindergarten for what I wanted for Christmas that year. I told them a set of Cabbage Patch twins. My mom still has that clipping.

On a funny note- my older sister was a mean little witch. When I was in second grade she convinced me there was a news story about Cabbage Patch kids getting mysteriously possessed by demons, people claiming to see the dolls heads spin round and round. I was so terrified of them after that for the longest time! LMAO!

I had no idea about the Cabbage Patch Kids-that really is awful!

Hope you all feel better soon! I know when GG gets a cold it exasperates her allergies.

I feel the media purposely tries to cause trouble for the story even if it wasn't race related. They start shouting hints that it is to get things going in that direction so their stories are heard and more erupts from it.
